Hi I'm Carrie

I grew up in the southern states. I have two beautiful daughters. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the south but met my husband at school out west. After getting married we transferred schools to be closer to family. I graduated with a degree in Special Education from a small Christian school. My daughter was born 2 weeks before graduation. I know have the privilege of staying home with her full time and am excited because we are expecting our second child. I enjoy doing crafty things. Recently I have been making lots of hair bows and things for my little girls. I also enjoy reading, going for walks and spending time with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born after my parents joined the church so I have been a member my entire life. Growing up I never questioned the gospel. I had several experiences that let me know my Heavenly Father loves me. After getting married I attended a small Christian school. I was the only member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints attending the school. At first this was very difficult for me. I felt like an outsider. As I continued going to the school I soon realized that my peers shared many of the same fundamental beliefs as me. I started to really think about why I believed the way I did. I felt a love for my new friends as well as a deeper love for my savior and his plan. I have never had an angel visit me or a grand experience that let me know the church is true. Instead, for me it has come in the small things. A simple answer to a prayer to find my way home or a feeling of piece when I needed it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything I do. Because my family and I recently moved to a knew area I am not currently involved in any organizations. Instead I try to help my neighbors when they need a hand or give a smile to someone at the supermarket. I don't think you have to do anything big and grand to live a Christian life. It is in the small things done daily.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Carrie
Reading the scriptures as a family invites the spirit into my home and helps us work together. For several years my husband and I were struggling with a very personal problem. It caused stress and hard feelings between us. We did everything we could think of to solve the issue. This included reading books on the subject, discussing the problem and praying for help and guidance. After three years of difficulty I felt that we would never solve this issue between us. Then one day I felt inspired to attend a specific church meeting. I had not been planning on attending this meeting, but I felt certain that if I went I would find the answer we needed. At the meeting the speaker talked about the importance of reading the Book of Mormon. I knew that if I would follow the council my husband and I would receive the answer we needed. We set a goal to read the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. As we did so I noticed an increased sense of peace in our home. At the end of the year we accomplished our goal of reading the book. Withing a few short days of finishing the book we worked through our struggle. I am so grateful that we chose to read the Book of Mormon. It strengthened our marriage and has given us a peace that we had not felt before in our home. Reading the scriptures will help you draw closer to God and will bless your home and family .
