Hi I'm Sierra

I'm from North Carolina. I'm a mommy of two and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of two young boys, who keep me on my toes. I studied Human Development in college and help teach at my kids preschool. I love being outside, playing sports, and watching movies with my family. I also love to paint and draw if I get a moment to myself.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an area where there weren't very many mormons, besides myself. So at a young age, I was frequently asked questions about what I believed. I wanted to know if what I had been taught by my parents was really true. So on my own, I prayed and read the Book of Mormon and asked God if this book was really true. I recieved an answer with feelings of peace, comfort and immense love from my Savior. Since then, I have continued to ask God for truths and guidance on a day to day basis. And he continues to answer me with whisperings of the spirit, that are hard to describe in words. At hard times, which we all have, I have received such peace and hope because I know why I am here and what is after this life. I know that my family will be together forever. To know something with absolute surety is a wonderful blessing and to have that confirmed each day is an even greater blessing.

How I live my faith

At church, the women/girls look out for eachother. That's one thing that I love about the church, no matter where you go in the world. The way it is organized allows us to watch out for eachother and teach eachother. The women have a class together every Sunday and I teach that class once a month. I love to teach; the Gospel of Jesus Christ is something I feel passionate about and I love to hear what the other women know and love too. While we learn and serve at church on Sunday, we also do this during the week in different ways. I go visit or call the women who I have been assigned to visit, and if they need anything I'm there for them and vise versa. It's good to have someone there to count on and who can uplift you. I also live my faith by doing the things that help me each day, like reading scriptures, praying, learning, and taking care of my family and friends.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Sierra
The great thing about the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that this knowledge cannot just be passed from one person to another. The "Holy Ghost will manifest the truth of all things." We can ask God directly and he can tell us directly through his Holy Spirit. As long as we are humble and ask with real intent, Heavenly Father will give us truth and we will feel it. Goodness, light, love, peace, etc. It becomes more than just beliefs it becomes small treasures that add up to be priceless truths that bring so much joy, you can't imagine not having them.
