Hi I'm Brianna

I am a college student majoring in Elementary Education. I am a wife, sister, aunt, and daughter. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a student majoring in Elementary Education. I am married to a wonderful husband who makes me so happy. I love to learn and try new things. I love the outdoors and spending time with family. I served a full-time LDS mission in Texas and loved every moment of it. I love sharing the gospel with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the material the church teaches makes sense.Families are forever, that is the most important thing to me in life, my family. I remember when the Prophet Gordon B. Hinckley issued the challenge for us to read the Book of Mormon, I had struggled with reading in the past and I didn't know if it would be possible for me to finish the Book of Mormon by the end of the year. I prayed and I feel that is when I gained the truth of the gospel, I was able to finish reading the Book of Mormon and understand it. Heavenly Father was mindful of me at such an important time in my life. I know He is mindful of each one of us. We are all His children and He wants us to get back and live with him, I know we all will be able to do that.

How I live my faith

The best way I know how to live my faith is be an example of what I invite others to do... study the scriptures on a daily basis, go to church weekly, and pray. I have seen by studying the scriptures they give you a better appreciation for the Savior, Jesus Christ. One of the best ways that I lived my faith was to serve as a missionary and to be able to share on a daily basis the things I knew to be true; families are forever, God is our Heavenly Father, everyone can repent, and Jesus Christ suffered on the cross for each one of us. I know that by doing the simple things great things in your life will happen, even miracles.

Why is authority to perform a baptism important?

If you think about Jesus Christ and his baptism, you may want to ask yourself," Why did he go to John the Baptist and not just a Rabbi? The main reason for that is because John the Baptist had the authority to baptize not saying the Rabbi didn't but it wasn't the correct authority. One way I understood this better was when someone asked me if an ice cream truck driver could give me a ticket for speeding. The obvious answer would be no and the reason being,he didn't have the correct authority, but if a police officer were to come up to me and pull me over for speeding he could give me a ticket because he has that authority to do so. That is how it was with other people that were baptizing. They were teaching something good but God has a specific way to baptize and says it has to be with priesthood authority. Being baptized with the proper authority means that your baptism will not only count here on earth but also in heaven. As you are baptized with the proper authority you receive the gift of the Holy Ghost which is a constant companion. Like Jesus Christ said in John 3:5 we need to be baptized with water and the Spirit. We all have the Spirit or the "Light of Christ" but the Holy Ghost gets to be with us at all times as we are baptized with the proper priesthood authority. Show more Show less

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ. It teaches about Christ's dealings with the people in Ancient America. The Book of Mormon was written by prophets in the America just like the Bible was in Jersusalem. The Book of Mormon will answer questions of your soul and will help you understand where you came from, why you are here, and where you are going. The only way to know if the Book of Mormon is true is to read it and then pray about it. Show more Show less
