Hi I'm Adam

I have faith in Christ. I love my family. I'm a baseball player. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm just a young guy that loves to have a good time. I left university and baseball to serve a two year full-time mission for the LDS Church in Zimbabwe because I knew that it was the right thing to do. It was an experience that shaped and is continuing to shape my life. I wouldn't trade it for anything. Following my third year of college ball, I was given an opportunity to play professionally. I have the chance to meet so many wonderful people because of my career. I love to serve others and feel happy doing so. Even though I am very busy with baseball, I love to share my knowledge and testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It brings happiness into my life as well as the lives of those who embrace it.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents are very active members. Looking back, I'm glad that they showed me the way. I'm happy to say that I'm not a strong member of the church just because of my parents. They always encouraged me to be active, but were never too forceful. They let me make my own decisions. I did rely on their testimonies though. That's for sure. At a crucial point in my life, I knew that I truly had to find out for myself. I would read three or four verses from the Book of Mormon each night before I would sleep. That was all though. At this important time of my life, I remember praying so fervently about the Book of Mormon, Joseph Smith, and the Church that he restored. After I offered that prayer at my bedside, I felt the Holy Ghost touch me stronger than ever before. I felt that it was true. Something that I can't deny. I decided to make some changes in my life and prepare for full-time missionary service. And I haven't looked back. Since that evening at my bedside, I have had many additional spiritual witnesses and experiences confirming my faith. My testimony has strengthened so much. I know that the Church is true. I know Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. Because of this and many succeeding events, the fullness of the Gospel was brought back in these last days. The proper authority and organization of Jesus Christ's original Church exists today. It is led by revelation through President Thomas Spencer Monson. He is the Lord's prophet today. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. It truly gives us a complete knowledge of our Savior's gospel. It testifies of Him. I know that all of my feelings of guilt and shame can be swept away through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I know this because I have experienced it. He lives. He loves us. I know these things to be true independent of any person, including my parents. The Holy Ghost has testified these things simply through my thoughts and feelings. I can't deny them.

How I live my faith

My faith is very important to me. I strive to be an example to those who see me and those I associate with. It's very important to live a life with high standards. Of course I always fall short of being the type of person that God wants me to be. But I know that I can continue to improve as I repent each and every day. As I do this, I've seen myself grow as an individual and my positive attitude has an impact on those around me. When I put God first in my life, things seem to fall in place and work out. The key for me is to strive to always be humble and recognize what Heavenly Father has done for me. If I can constantly do this, God will always be first in my life.

Can husband and wife be together forever? Do you believe that families will live together in heaven?

There isn't a more comforting doctrine that anybody could ever tell me than that of eternal families. It is so comforting to know that if something were to ever tragically happen to me or a family member, we will still be together in the life to come. Death is inevitable. I will dread the day when it happens to a loved one. But I know that through the power of God that has been restored back to the earth today, I will be with my family for time here on earth and also eternally in heaven. There is something special about this doctrine. Something that I desire everybody else to learn about and accept into their lives too.    Show more Show less
