Hi I'm Michelle Bate

I love my family. I love to sing. I love to travel. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated with my Associates Degree. I will continue to attend my university as I strive to receive my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I love children and look forward to being an official teacher someday. Over the past few years I've had the wonderful opportunity to live in Utah, Idaho, Illinois, Florida, and Texas as well as visiting Ireland, Scotland, and England for three weeks. Each experience has been life changing and has allowed me to recognize the hand of God in my life. I love to sing, write stories for fun, read good books, and spend time with my family and my friends. I love life and I love helping others enjoy life as well.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has been a great blessing in my life. I am fortunate to have come from a family built on a firm foundation of the gospel. As a teenager my family and I experienced some trials that hurt us deeply. Together we were able to recognize that this trial was meant as a blessing and we, through our examples of love and strength, would be able to help others get through similar challenges. It was not easy, but it was definitely worth it. Now I am older and I am faced with new trials everyday. As I remember the love that Heavenly Father has for me, I know that I will be able to make it through anything with His help. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is our living prophet on the earth today. I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the Restoration. And I know that Christ came to this earth and died for me. I love this gospel with all of my heart and I am grateful for every moment as a member in it.

How I live my faith

I teach an organization of women at church on Sundays. We study the lives of the prophets and discuss how their examples can help us in our lives. We share with one another ways in which we can draw nearer to Christ. We know that we are daughters of a loving Heavenly Father. We are grateful for our Savior Jesus Christ and as I teach I strive to help each woman recognize her potential.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

Michelle Bate
In order to go into the temple members must hold a temple recommend. In order to receive a recommend a member must meet with their bishop to make sure they are worthy to enter the temple. The events that take place inside of the temples is very sacred and special for Mormons which is part of the reason why they are not discussed outside of the temple. Though only Mormons may enter the temple once it has been dedicated there are open houses held before the dedication which all members and non-members may participate in. It is a wonderful experience for all. Show more Show less
