Hi I'm Mindy

I am a full-time mom, I love Music and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young mother of two active boys and the wife to a wonderful husband! I love to play the piano and sing, music is one of my greatest loves. I enjoy playing basketball among lots of other sports and I also love to scrap book and read! I have a busy but fulfilling life that I love!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family of latter day saints (LDS) and so I grew up attending the LDS church my whole life. Around the age of 10 or 11 I knew I needed to find out for myself if this was the place I should be and if this was God's true church on the Earth. I had always attended church with my family and grew up believing in it but I still wanted that firm testimony for myself. After reading the Book of Mormon I took Moroni's promise found in Moroni 10:3-5 which is to pray and ask God if what you have read is true. I knelt down and asked if the church and the Book of Mormon was true. At first I didn't really feel anything and then slowly I realized with a deep burning in my heart that I had known all along that the church was true. Every day of my life I had lived the gospel of Jesus Christ and after asking for myself if it was true the Holy Ghost affirmed to me in my heart that it was true and that the Lord was very pleased with how I was living my life. I didn't have a vision like I know the Prophet Joseph Smith did where he saw God the Father and his son Jesus Christ, but I just felt the spirit in my heart. My testimony came to me slowly over all the years of my life and it continues to grow stronger everyday that I live my life. My testimony is the most precious gift I have.

How I live my faith

I have the wonderful opportunity to be a visiting teacher and the humanitarian specialist in my specific congregation. I have three sisters in my congregation that I get to visit at least once a month and then just check up on them and make sure they are doing okay. It has been a wonderful opportunity for me to get to know a few sisters older than myself that I might not have normally sought out to get to know. I have come to love the sisters I teach dearly. My other calling or role that I have right now in the church is the humanitarian specialist. I head up a couple of projects every year that deal with humanitarian aid both locally and globally. Recently I headed up a wonderful project where we made dresses for little girls in Africa and sent them over to the girls in the orphanages there. In the future I may be in charge of putting hygiene kits together for relief victims from natural disasters or other things of that nature. It is the most wonderful feeling to be able to serve my fellow men and women of the world!
