Hi I'm Benjamin

I am a science teacher and proud father of 5. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a science teacher in urban Kansas City, Missouri. I teach science and gifted and talented. I love to play tennis with my wife. I work with a venture scout crew (a scout group for older boys that emphasizes high adventure). I have 4 daughters ages 6, 5, 2, and 1 and one son just a few months old (this is the ages as of early 2011). At my school I run an environmental club, scholar bowl team, foriegn language club and help run an engineering club. At home I love to play games and read with my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Savior, Jesus Christ and feel closer to Him when I serve in the church and study the scriptures, the Bible and Book of Mormon. I feel loved by God the Father and Jesus Christ as I worship on Sunday and pray. I decided to serve as a full-time missionary when I was 19 years old and had the opportunity to serve in the great country of Portugal! As I prepared for this service I prayed and studied and felt a strong love from God and a peaceful and mild but powerful feeling as I pondered that this is Jesus Christ's church led by a living prophet. I feel a strong conviction that I am following Jesus Christ as a disciple as I live faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

How I live my faith

I pray multiple times daily and study scriptures every morning. I teach my children to believe in and follow Jesus Christ's teachings. We try to serve others by visiting the sick and elderly. I work with the young men in our congregation by teaching them about Christ and working with them in scouting. I try to follow the Savior in my daily life, trying to think about what Jesus would do as I interact with others.

Are Mormons Christians?

Mormons are Christians. My faith is founded upon the closeness I feel toward the Savior, Jesus Christ, as I live according to the teachings given by living prophets and apostles who are Christ's representatives on the Earth. Show more Show less
