Hi I'm Chad

I'm a marraige and family therapist. I teach seminary. I love anything with peanut butter and chocolate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just turned 29 years old. My sweetheart and I were married in the Bountiful temple and we have 3 beautiful children. I grew up in a house where my dad was a football coach so I love all sports! I love to play basketball and golf. I graduated with a master's degree in marriage and family therapy and I enjoy working with individuals who are trying to change! I believe that people can change and it is a miracle to be part of that process!

Why I am a Mormon

Truth be told, my parents are Mormons, my grandparents are Mormons - in fact, I have ancestors that were pioneers who came to Utah from England and Sweden. Yet, there came a time where I had to find out for myself. When I was 15 years old, I had the opportunity to attend a national scout jamboree in Virginia. During this trip, we visited some church historical sites, including the Sacred Grove. Unbeknownst to me, my parents had written me a letter that I was to read while in the Sacred Grove. As I read, my dad issued me a challenge to kneel down and find out for myself it the restoration of the gospel was a reality. I took his challenge and prayed to find out for myself it the church was indeed true. I received the most powerful confirmation of the truthfulness of the gospel as the Spirit filled my soul with joy and peace. I wept as I felt God's arms around me confirming the truth that I had been taught. This was a life changing experience because in moments of doubts, I have always been able to reflect back on that experience and remember the powerful witness I was blessed with. Mt testimony has been strengthened since then, but that is where it began for me. I know The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is God's true church on this earth. I know the priesthood has been restored and is here to bless the lives of the whole world. I know that we have a living prophet on this earth! On that jamboree, President Monson spoke to us at a Sacrament Meeting and as I shook his hand, I was again filled with love and comfort. The Book of Mormon has been a huge blessing in my life as I have turned to its pages for guidance and solace in times of need. I love my Savior and believe in His perfect atonement making it possible for me to repent and return with my family to dwell in God's presence! I know these things to be true and I say them in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

About a year and half ago, I was called to be the bishop of our ward. I was only 27 when I was called and was completely overwhelmed. I was on my knees a lot seeking guidance and counsel from the Lord. This calling has taught me many things. First, the Lord qualifies those who He calls. Next, revelation is absolutely real. And last, Paul taught a great truth when he stated I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. As a bishop, I have many responsibilities, but one of my most enjoyable opportunities is to interact with the youth. I get to teach the Young Men once a month and every Wednesday, as a bishopric, we join our youth in their activities. It is amazing to see how the gospel of Jesus Christ influences people's lives. In my calling, I have worked with many individuals who were struggling in one way or another. It is curious to me that the answer - regardless the problem - is always turning to Jesus Christ and living His gospel. I think of the Israelites in the wilderness without food and without water - the Lord always provided for them with a symbol of Him. He is the Bread of Life and he who drinketh the water that Christ giveth shall never thirst. I feel it a privilege to serve my Savior in some small way hopefully helping advance His kingdom on this earth!
