Hi I'm Jon

I grew up has a military brat . I am a lot tech,son , a convert,friend,brother ,primary teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an avid disk golf player. I like camping, hiking, and hunting. I enjoy riding four wheelers--or quads. I have only three more jumps before I qualify to jump out of an airplane by myself! I'm pretty laid back, but I'm very loyal when it comes to friends and family. I love my friends and I am pretty much an adopted uncle to their kids. I try to be a very down-to-earth person who is truthful and genuine.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I am a member of this church is because after years of trying different churches, this is the one where I knew I belonged. The people at church treated me like I was already a member when they first met me. The first time I met members of this church was at a summer picnic eight years ago, and I was treated like a part of the congregation family from the very first. When I was first given a copy of the Book of Mormon, I began reading and it actually scared me. I did not understand what it was about, and I had heard so many different things about this church. Thankfully, I had friends who encouraged me to continue reading. They also taught me the importance of praying before and after reading the book. I continued reading and began praying about it. I was studying one day and learned about what was referred to as the Great Apostasy. I learned that it was the time after the Apostles of Jesus Christ were killed, and His church began to fall apart. As I studied and learned about how His church was restored through Joseph Smith, I felt a warm feeling and I heard a voice in my head telling me the things I was learning were true. That was the start of a beginning of a new chapter of my life. September 18, 2010 I was baptized. It took a lot of help from patient, full-time missionaries who would teach and study with me and from other friends.

How I live my faith

I love and look forward to each Sunday. I teach a class of 9-11 year old boys each week. I love preparing lessons throughout the week and helping the boys. I also love visiting the homes of some families in the congregation to teach and serve them, and I enjoy going with the full-time missionaries to help teach and friendship others who are learning about the church.
