Hi I'm Lamar

I work. I go to school. I spend as much time as I can with my wife. And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the United States. I love to play sports especially basketball and football. Im also big into outdoor events like camping, rock climbing and similar activities. I love music, especially the guitar. I am terrible at the piano, but wish i could play it. My favorite movie.... Elf. I go to college and am studying in business communications. I probably will end up finding a gold mine, but who knows. I am married, but have no kids yet. Sometimes when something unfortunate happens, I like to think it could be worse. I am optimistic. I love watching movies with my wife. I can always beat my brother and sisters in anything they wish to challenge me in. So I guess you could say that I am a little competitive. I like college sports more than professional sports. I love to spend time with my family. I love the east coast. I lived there as a missionary for two years and wish I could go back. To sum it all up, I love to enjoy life.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Its simple really. I love being happy. What makes me happy? Knowing that I am a child of God and that I can talk to Him through prayer. I am happy because I have come to know Jesus Christ through both modern and ancient prophets. I am happy because I know that I can live with my wife forever, even after death. Being a Mormon has helped me to strengthen relationships at home, with my family, and with friends and co-workers. How is this all possible? It is because God speaks to a prophet today, and that prophet communicates to the world what we can do to better exemplify Jesus Christ. I am happy because I know these things. I used to live a self-centered life. Everything I did was for my personal gain. I have since learned through the teachings of Jesus Christ that a service oriented life brings you the most happiness because you draw closer to God, Jesus Christ and those around you. I would not change anything in my life. I am happy with everything. I am happy to struggle to make ends meet as a newly wed. I am happy to have to stay up late and get up early to finish my schooling. I am happy for everything that happens in my life because I know why I have come to earth and where I am going. That is true peace. I can feel it in my life. There isn't anything on earth that could make me more happy. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making it normal, every day life. Reading the scriptures daily, saying prayers, going to church on Sunday, and helping others are things that I consider to be part of everyday life. Am I perfect? Definitely not. Is it easy for me? Most certainly not. I make the best of everything that I am given. I try to live my life in such a way that those who do not know Jesus Christ, will want to know Him because they know me. I want to help others whenever possible. I want them to know that I love them and hope the best for them. I want them to know that I would do anything for them because I want them to be happy. I do my best to live my life how the Savior lived His. When I make mistakes, I ask for forgiveness and improve in that area. I currently work with the 16-17 year old kids in our congregation. I teach them every Sunday the teachings of Jesus Christ. I strive to live those teachings so that I may be an example to them. I love them all. They are all so great and it is a priviledge to work with them. I spent two years of my life as a missionary, teaching people in New Jersey the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I put a hold on every other aspect of my life; school, work and even a relationship, so that I could dedicate myself 100% to helping the people of New Jersey learn more about Christ. I am no longer a missionary in New Jersey, but I continue my efforts here in Arizona. I just love the Gospel of Christ.
