Hi I'm Jeanne

I'm a swim instructor part time, and mom fulltime, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California. Some people say it's nearly impossible to keep your values living in Los Angeles. While it was difficult, it wasn't impossible. I kept busy doing things I still find fun! When I was younger I was a competitive swimmer. Swimming occupied my evenings and weekends. Even now if I am away from a pool for too long I feel a little dehydrated. I love to swim and spend time teaching children and adultshow to conquer their fear of water while learning a new task. I loved to cook when I was young and now that I am older I find sharing a meal a great way to show love. I enjoyed to writing as a teen and found great solace crafting pretty sappy poetry. Now that my youth is behind me, I no longer craft poetry, but I pour my heart into my journals. My journals are now among my most treasured possessions. The older I get, the more my memory fades, so my journals are my brain's external hard drive.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon. I found great happiness in the church. I have great memories as a child and teen surrounding the members in my area. When my brother served a mission I challenged myself to read the Book of Mormon while he was gone. As a senior in high school I read it, and then prayed about it. After I prayed to know if it was true, I waited, I listened. I felt a calmness in my heart a feeling of peace very difficult to describe in words. I knew it was true, I couldn't deny it. As I live my life according to the principles I find in that book I find strength beyond my own to overcome the obstacles and trials in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. I pray, read in the scriptures, and do my best to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. Just those three things make me a better mother, daughter, sister and spouse. I find great joy as I strive to become more Christlike in my actions, my words, and my thoughts. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have so many opportunities to serve. I work with young women, I visit other members in their homes, I've made friends, and found a home far from where my extended family lived as I have participated in church activities.
