Hi I'm Jillian

Wife to fabulous husband, mother of two. Speaker of Dutch, lover of travel & being outside. Irish dancer, viola player. Brunette.

About Me

I'm Jillian. I majored in German and enjoyed studying and traveling throughout Europe, which got me a serious case of wanderlust. I love travelling and seeing the world in its many places and faces. I have truly come to realize that we are all God's children and he is active and involved in each of our lives, if we let Him in. I am married to a smart, hard-working man and we have two children (ages three and one). On top of the most rewarding (and exhausting!!) job of being a mother, I work from home for a global network marketing company as their Documents and Training Specialist. During our free time, we enjoy good movies, visiting with our families, playing games, and hiking the limitless miles of trails in the surrounding mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because my parents taught me the principles of this faith from a young age. They grew up in good Christian homes, but were dissatisfied that their wedding vows contained "'til death do us part." When they met two Mormon couples just months later, they learned about eternal marriage made possible by being making covenants and being sealed together in Mormon temples. I'm grateful to them for being baptized into the Mormon church and instilling its core values, mainly that Jesus is the Christ, in our family.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday because I know that I will come away with something to strengthen my faith and help me overcome my weaknesses (I have many). It also deepens my understanding and love for our Savior, Jesus Christ. And honestly, with two kids that won't sit still for hours at a time, it's sometimes hard to sit with wiggling, teasing children and feel His Spirit - but I truly believe and know that there's nothing better I could be doing with them. It's rewarding to see my three year old perk up when she hears familiar language and references to the Savior and the scriptures. I do my best to live my faith by teaching them the basics of the gospel and seeing that realized in Church at their young age is the best thing a mom can experience.
