Hi I'm Becky

I am a mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of four young boys, and stay home to watch them grow up. I love being in my home. I enjoy gardening and crafty things such as knitting, painting, and making things. I have a degree in elementary education, but had my first baby before teaching my own class, so I really enjoy volunteering at my kids schools and being in the classroom setting. I love being with my husband. We enjoy movies, traveling, playing games, and just being together. Life is good!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, to goodly parents who are great examples to me still. As a teenager I really enjoyed going to seminary (church at school), I loved learning more about the scriptures. I know that this church is true. I know that Jesus is my Savior. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and know that it is true. I believe in the power of prayer. I have felt the Holy Ghost and know that it is there to help guide me in my life. My faith is the center of my life. I have chosen to make my faith important so that my children might also choose to follow our Savior.

How I live my faith

Currently I am working with the children at church. I help organize the teachers and all of the programs that involved the children under 12 years old. It is very busy, but I really enjoy being with my own children as well as their friends. I love teaching the children. They have such a sweet spirit about them. I also visit other women in our neighborhood. I love visiting these women! I have formed some fabulous friendships with women that I probably would not have been close to in other ways. I enjoy meeting with these women and helping them when there is a need.

What are Mormon women like? Do Mormons believe in equality of men and women?

Mormon women are like most any women you'll meet. They come in all shapes and sizes, they have different likes and dislikes, they have different goals and schedules. Many mormon women are focused on family, but that doesn't mean that they all stay home, many must work outside the home to support their families. Mormons believe in equality of men and women. Husbands and wives must work together to create a firm and close family. They must work together to provide for their families (determining who works and who stays home and what jobs each does is up to the individual). Families are meant to help each other at all times, nobody is better than the other.....all are equal and asked to help. Show more Show less
