Hi I'm Ashley

I have had open heart surgery. I am a Spiderman fanatic. My family means the world to me and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in the Seattle, Washington area. I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 15. I have always dreamed of being a teacher and now I am getting closer to achieving that. Dancing is my stress reliever: jazz, ballroom and country western. Spiderman is my favorite superhero. I have an obsession for crazy socks; I usually wear Halloween or Christmas socks all year round. Spending time with my family and friends is my favorite thing to do. My family is very important to me. I love to laugh because it brings happiness to everyone and helps me realize things aren't so bad. I had open heart surgery when I was 3 years old and had a second surgery a few years later for additional repairs. I know that I am still alive because Heavenly Father has more in store for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church when I was 15 years old because two friends invited me to go to church with them. I prayed to know for myself if the things I was being taught by the missionaries were true and I received an answer. I have seen the difference in my life since I have been apart of this church. My life is filled with more happiness, peace and direction. I have been able to overcome trials and difficulties much easier because of my faith. I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I know that I am a daughter of God. Our Father in Heaven knows us and loves us personally. He sent His Son in order for us to return to Him. Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know our prayers are answered. I know that Joseph Smith was chosen by God to bring back the fullness of Christ's Church and doctrine on the earth. President Monson is the prophet on the earth today; he is the mouthpiece for Heavenly Father. He receives revelation from God on how to lead and guide the world. I know that The Book of Mormon is the word of God and that together with the Bible they testify of Jesus Christ and teach of Christ's gospel.

How I live my faith

Reading the scriptures and praying are what help me get through each day. I love attending church on Sunday and participating in the weekly activities. I strive to be a good example to those around me by living the standards the church has established and following the ultimate example of Jesus Christ. I find the most happiness when I am helping someone else to have a better day. I am not perfect but I know that through Christ I can overcome my weaknesses.
