Hi I'm Laura

I'm an Animal caretaker and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest girl of 7 kids. I have always been the crazy little one that did whatever she wanted. I love my family and how much fun we can have together. I have worked with animals for only 5 years and I have enjoyed it so much. My favorite animals to work with are Alpacas, Lemurs, seals and porpoises . Working with animals have taught me to be more patience and also set goals for what I want to achieve. Right now I'm serving in the Salt Lake City South mission and I love every minute of it. I love to share with others how we have a Heavenly Father that cares and loves all of us here on earth.

Why I am a Mormon

My mom is a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints. I grew up in the church and always loved the stories from the Book of Mormon. When I was 14yrs old I had a bad experience in the church that really offended me. I have always loved the Book of Mormon and the things we learn from it. I decided to pray and ask Heavenly Father if the Book of Mormon was true so I could have my own witness that it was true. I received my answer through the feelings of the Holy Ghost. It gave me such strong feelings. I was super happy and very warm inside at the same time. The Spirit also witnessed to me that Heavenly Father cares about everyone- including me. So everytime I study the scriptures I get that feeling of joy and I know again for myself that the Gospel is true. Because of this experience, I can truly say that the Gospel is true.

How I live my faith

Faith without action is dead. Christ taught us to love one another so I do my best to love others in order to show my faith. Another example: in the 10 commandments, one of them says to keep the sabbath day holy. I do my best to focus on Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ that day by attending church and feeling the Spirit. I call going to church a vacation because in church I feel I can leave all my worries outside and just enjoy and feel the spirit of God. I know that by trying a little harder everyday to grow closer to Christ I can reach my full potential in life.
