Hi I'm Steve

I'm a father of 3, I'm a husband to an amazing woman, I'm a Jarhead, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Cincinnati but lived in several places with my family throughout the US having stops in Utah, Pennsylvania, back to Ohio, Pensacola and ended up in Jacksonville Florida for my high school years. I guess I call Jacksonville home. After graduation I worked to save for my mission, I served two years in Taiwan where I learned to speak Mandarin Chinese and made some life longs friends. I returned home and met; I know this is going to sound cheesy, the girl of my dreams! We’ve been married now for almost 25 years and she’s still excited to see me come home from work :-). During this time I spent 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps serving in During Desert Shield/ Storm and 4 more years going to the University of Idaho with my wife. That was a wonderful experience! I have 2 wonderful daughters and 1 rambunctious son. My family is truly the most important aspect in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I think what makes the gospel of Jesus Christ so special to me and why I’m a Mormon is that first, it’s simple and true and by living its teachings I become a better husband, father and person which directly affects me as an employee and citizen within my community. Secondly, I love the fact that the family is the central unit in the Church and everything else revolves around its foundation. Through my living the gospel of Jesus Christ I’ve come to know that he lives and loves me dearly. This knowledge has been a beacon in my life, something I can always fall back on if needed.

How I live my faith

Simply put, by following the teachings of Jesus Christ. I am currently serving as the Young Men’s President in our ward, which has responsibilities over the 12 to 18 year old boys. Working with these wonderful teenagers has given me the opportunity to teach them they too can have a personal relationship with our Father in Heaven and come to know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. I have the opportunity to regularly visit several families through our Home Teaching program and take part in Sunday activities.
