Hi I'm Sam

I grew up and live in Connecticut. Love maps and college sports. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an aspiring cartographer. I love maps. I like to know where places are and how to get to those places. At times, I can spend hours looking at a road atlas of the United States. I like to make others laugh. It makes me happy to see others are having a good time because then I can have a good time. I'm very hard on myself when I feel I have performed lower than mine and others expectations. I am also a big proponent of the truth. Indeed, the truth will set us free.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the LDS Church but knew the importance of finding things out for myself and that I could not rely on my parents' beliefs for long. I'm Mormon because the Holy Ghost testifying, telling me that the principles taught by Jesus Christ and thus endorsed by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints are true. That these truths are eternal and never go out of style. But that knowledge didn't happen over night, even though many times I wanted it to. It took years. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints teaches this gospel. It is His church.

How I live my faith

Short answer: One day at a time. Long answer: Sometimes when I think about what is ahead of me, it can get overwhelming. But what helps me is my faith in Jesus Christ. Knowing that He is always there for me is a great boon in times of stress, pain, trial, etc. This faith in Him also helps me to be positive about what goes on in my life and the opportunities and blessings that I have and can have. Everyday provides trials and tests that can bring you down if you let them. And there have been times when I have. Probably more often than not. But as I have gone along, learning about the gospel(which is a life-long venture, being born in the church), I have learned that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real. Not only did He pay for my sins if I repent, He suffered pain and death so He could know how to help me in times of struggle, stress, and heartache. I try to access this Atonement everyday because I need it everyday. He is sufficient to save. That is why I have faith in Him.
