Hi I'm Kathy

I grew up an Idaho farmgirl. I'm now a wife and a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom since our oldest, age 23, was born. My husband and three children are the light of my life. I like to read, crochet, play piano, and listen to old-time radio programs.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the Church by two great examples of gospel living. But I had to gain my own testimony through study of the scriptures, prayer, and living the principles of the gospel. I have seen and felt the peace and happiness that living the gospel brings. I am thankful to the Lord Jesus Christ for His love, His sacrifice, His continued guidance.

How I live my faith

I serve in various capacities in our congregation. I have taught children and youth classes. I have served as a leader in the women's auxiliary. I have played piano for the children's auxiliary and for the choir. In addition, there are four ladies I visit once a month to share a spiritual message and offer any needed assistance. I also try to look for ways to serve outside the Church. For example, I crochet leper bandages that get sent to an organization that sends them to Viet Nam.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

Our son returned recently from a mission to Mexico. His mission was funded in a variety of ways: He worked and saved money, which we put into a special fund for him. Every month we sent the Church some money from that fund. The Church made sure he had sufficient for his housing, food, etc. His grandfather also sent money on a monthly basis. In addition, generous people in the church donated money occasionally. The Church picked up the travel expenses to get him to and from Mexico, but he and our family and friends contributed all the rest. Show more Show less
