Hi I'm Bryson

I am a return missionary living in surprise AZ, a college student and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old, and I have chosen to serve a mission for my Father in Heaven as a representative of Jesus Christ. I have been called to the serve in the Chicago Illinois Mission and I absolutly love it! I have 3 Brothers two older and one younger. My parents are divorced, but my family is not broken, it has only brought my brothers and I closer together, and I have come to appreciate and Love my Dad so much more because of his loving example of putting his trust in the Lord. Right now I am giving myself completely to the Lord by talking to and inviting people everyday about Christ and to come unto Him. It is the greatest blessing I have been given, to preach this wonderful truth.

Why I am a Mormon

well I grew up in the church, but that time eventually came when I had to know for myself if what I have learned is ture and to become truly converted to this Gospel. it started when my parents began the divorce. I was unhappy and I felt lost. I didnt think that what I had grown up with was really true, and I just felt alone. I thought if God really loves me then he wouldnt allow these things to happen or for me to feel so unhappy. but there was still that thought that I could not reject that there was a God. it wasnt until I felt so lost and so unhappy that I finally seeked for an answer, for feelings of comfort from Father in Heaven. it took many days of prayer and sincere faith to receive an answer. I did receive an answer, and the love and comfort I felt and what I heard was so powerful, so profound, that I knew to the very core that there is a God and that he does love me and all of us. I knew that what this Church teaches no other church has, because this is the restorted church of Christ, and it is the only ture and living church on the face of the earth. Not an ounce of my body can deny what I know to be true and what I have felt. I am a Mormon because this is His Kingdom once again established on the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith of course by deciding to serve a mission. I strive to do better everyday, because everyday I make mistakes. But I know that through the Attonement of Christ I can be made perfect and that is what I strive for, perfection. I do my best to follow the Example of Jesus Christ, by doing as he did, preaching His Gospel, helping those in need, loving everyone and always putting my trust in the Lord.

How are the activities of the Mormon missionaries funded?

I am a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and in order for me to come out and serve I worked really hard every summer working many different jobs to save up and pay my own way instead of haveing my parents pay. So generaly our activity is funded by us. Most missionaries do save up to pay for it on their own or their parents help them out. and if they have no means to pay for it but really desire to come out and serve then the tithing that members pay helps them out. I am personally greatful that I was able to work as hard as I could to save up as much money as I could to come and serve a mission. it has helped me appreciate what I am doing so much more and has helped me desire to work that much harder because I sacrificed so much to come and serve the Lord. What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is a personage of spirit, so it does not have a body of flesh and bones. He is part of the Godhead with God the father and His son, Jesus Christ. We believe that through the Holy Ghost we can receive a witness that the teachings of Jesus Christ are true. It is my testimony that I have received a witness from the Holy Ghost that Jesus is the Christ and that the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's Kingdom once again established on the earth. I am so grateful that I allowed the Holy Ghost to warm my heart and give me this wonderful truth. It has blessed my life and directed me in the right way.  Show more Show less

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

When Christ and His apostles were killed off the church that Christ had established could no longer be held up and the priesthood authority of God was taken from the earth. This is called apostasy. which means a turning away from the truth, rejection of God's prophets. Without the apostles and the priesthood people turned to their own understanding to inturpret scripture and the nature of God. simple truths were lost and ordinances of the gospel were changed. The fulness of the Gospel was no longer on the earth. As time went on and people fell futher into apostasy people recognized the need for a restoration, but they still did not have that authority, and so came creeds and many different churches. It was the perfect time for a restoration, America was the only country to have religious freedom at the time and it was a time of great religous excitment. A restoration was need to bring back the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Lord's priesthood has been restored to the earth for the benifit of God's Children, and to lead Christ's church in righteousness. I know there was a need for a restoration, I know becasue God gave us the Book Of Mormon, to read and pray about. It proves that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that he was called to restore Christ's true church. This is the fulness of the Gospel, and it has brough great joy to me in knowing this. Why is family so important to Mormons?

Families are so important to me personaly beacuse they have helped me to become who I am today, and have provided the necessities of life to help me grow and develop. Most of all, I believe that Families can be together forever. God Created man and women in his own image and commanded them that they should mulitply and replenish the earth. Families are the fundamental unit of God's plan for us since the very beginning. In our families we learn of who we are, we learn of Love, services to others, and much more. Of course every family is different. I know there are others out there who had a much more difficult childhood than I have, but through the difficult challenges we were able to come closer together and become a much stronger family. Now because of thouse trials I have come to love and appreciate my family so much more! It brings to much comfort to know that I can be with them forever, not just here in this life. What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is what I know to be true. After praying to Heavenly Father to know the truth of something such as, is the Book of Mormon true? or can families really be together forever? if we pray with a sincere heart and with real intent the Lord will make these things manifest unto us by the power of the Holy Ghost. As we apply these principles in our life through faith, our testimony is strengthened. I know that Christ lives, I know because I have felt of the Healing power of His Atonement, and what it can really do for me. I know that He loves me and that He wants me to live with Him again. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God because I have feasted upon its words, and the Holy Ghost has testified to me that they are true. I know and I cannot deny that which has been made manifested unto me. "Ask and you shall receive, knock and it shall be open unto you". Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Why wouldn't there be a prophet like Moses, even Abraham, Noah, or Adam!? These men had a direct communication with the Lord, they had all the keys necessary to perform the work of the Lord, or in other words they had the Authority to act in God's name in every aspect. We have had prophets for our benefit to know of God's will and what we need to be aware of in our time. Of course we all have the ability to receive revelation for ourselves, but God has always used prophets to convey what he wants His children(us) to know. We have a prophet on the earth today, just as in times of old who communicates with God, and conveys that message to all of us, so we may better know how to avoid the cunningness of the devil and the many temptations of the world. That man's name is Thomas S. Monson, and I firmly believe that he has been called of God in these latter-days as a prophet to lead and to guide us in the direction that we need to go, and also to receive further revelations for ourselves and our families. I know these things of myself because the Lord has revealed them unto me by the power of the Holy Ghost, "and by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." Show more Show less
