Hi I'm Cassidie

I'm a wife, a student, a friend, and a sister. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student. I am going into the nursing program. I love my family and friends. I love playing sports. Volleyball, basketball, and softball are my favorite to play. I love going hiking, fourwheeling, and hunting. I love the outdoors. I am the oldest sibling. I have a little brother who is 9 and 1/2 years younger than me. I love him to death and I am so grateful to have him in my life. I grew up in a small town in Southern Utah and love it there. In high school I participated in volleyball, basketball, softball, orchestra, and many other clubs. I tried to be involve in everything that I could. I love hanging out with my friends, but I also love spending quality time with my little brother and parents.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the church. Becoming a member was one of the best decisions in my life. I was confused about what life was & where I was going to go after. I had been taught about heaven & all that growing up. I didn't get the purpose of life. I saw my friends & their families who had something that I didnt have. Dont get me wrong my family was happy, we had everything we wanted and needed, but there was still something missing. I went to church for the first time when I was 15, with my best friend. There I felt something that I had never felt before. I didn't really know what it was. When learning about the Gospel it felt like there was a warm fuzzy blanket around me. I wanted to know more about the church & why going there made me feel the way it did. My friend finally gave me a Book of Mormon. I read it & there was just something about that book that made me want to keep reading. I just wanted to read it & learn more. Every time I read the Book of Mormon I got that same warm blanket feeling.I prayed about it & got an answer that the church was true. It was overwheelming. Everything that I learned about the church just seemed so right & it felt so right. By living my life the way I do now & having God in my life daily there is an extra amount of happiness. I know that if I am having a trial that I will be able to get through it because He will be there to help me every step of the way in my life if I let Him.I keep living His gospel cause it makes life so much eachier. I know that there is a purpose to me being here & that I can be with my family for forever. I know that He lives & that He knows me personally & that He loves me so much. I know that if I do make a mistake I can repent & He is so willing & eager to help me come back to Him. He has so much patience & so much love. It is such a great comfort to me to know that He loves & cares for me so much. I dont know what I would do without having the gospel in my life. It has made my life so much better.

How I live my faith

I love participating in church activities. I love attending all the meetings and learning new things everytime I go. I love making the new friends that I make in my ward and am able to see that I am not the only one who has had a trial or going through whatever I am going through. I love reading my scriptures and learning something new everytime. I am able to get a new meaning everytime and I am able to apply it to my life at that moment in time. I attend institute. Its a place that during the week that 18 and older members of the church can go and attend classes and learn more about the gospel. During the week I am able to learn more about my Savior and learn of His love that He has for each of us. I am the class vice president. So I get to conduct some of the classes and tell what is going on around campus or what is happening at the institute. I love being able to learn from members that are around my age. They have so many different views about a subject that I would never come up with it. It is an amazing experience.

What is the difference between attending church and the temple?

Church you get to participate in weekly edification and enrichment, that helps you teach you postive prospective on life and the gospel. Everyone is able to come and attend church and learn about the gospel. The temple is a deeper learning of the ordinances, that help us learn how to return to our Heavenly Father and His son. Only worthy members who have had an interview with their bishop and have a recommend are able to enter the temple. Show more Show less
