Hi I'm Brian

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a soldier in the US Army. I love to work out five to six days a week. I have a bachelors degree in accounting and a masters in human resources management. I enjoy playing and watching baseball, basketball, and football. I have three children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church, but there came a time where I had to decide for myself if the teachings were true. Through sincere personal study and prayer, I was able to gain a testimony. The Holy Ghost testified to me that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, and he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. With this testimony, I decided to serve the Lord for two years as a missionary. While I served as a missionary, my testimony grew as I shared the gospel to the people in the San Fernando Valley. The teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ brings true happiness in my life, and I want that same happiness for all of God's children.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by having a positive attitude every day. I am thankful that I know God lives. At a minimum I make sure I pray before I go to work and before I go to bed. I read the scriptures every day. I go to church every Sunday. I visit members of our church. I bring a spiritual message to the family and ask if they need our help with anything. I help the missionaries in my ward by helping them teach investigators in my local community. I also do not smoke, drink, chew tobacco, or do illegal drugs.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

The Mormon lifestyle is true happiness. It takes discipline. It is not a Sunday only church. You need to do things every day that reminds you of your Father in Heaven and his son, Jesus Christ. You need to pray and read the scriptures every day. If you have a family, you will pray and read the scriptures as a family. Every Monday is set aside for family home evening. It is family night. You decide what you want to do on that night to strengthen your family. You will attend church every Sunday. You will have a specific job to do. No one is paid. You do it because you love the Lord. There may be times where you will have to attend meetings or activities that are during the week. If you live your life to a specific standard, you will be able to attend the temple. You will not be able to go to the temple just because you are a member of the church. All these things strengthen your personal relationship with the Lord and with your family which brings true joy.
