Hi I'm Mare

I am a nature loving gal, married to an awesome man and raising two beautiful boys. I am a Mormon.

About Me

The title I love best is Mom however I am a wife, daughter, sister, friend.... I have spent time in Utah, Idaho and California and now live happily with my husband and two little boys in Utah. I have traveled extensively throughout the world, Italy is a favorite, and served a LDS mission in the Bicol region of the Philippines. I have a degree in Horticulture and love spending time with my family in the Garden getting dirty. I enjoy sewing crafts, organizing, cooking, spending time around the dinner table talking with family, sunshine, redrock country, and warm fires at night. Send in a starry night sky and my husband on the guitar and life is delightfully sweet.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me peace and joy. Through out my life Heavely Father has tested me, at times beyond what I thought I could bear however it was my foundation in Christs teachings that led me through those times and its through those same teachings I am able to have joy and light in my daily life. I can not imagine what life would be like without the knowledge that Jesus is my brother who knows me and cares about me. I am grateful to have Him in my life and feel blessed to serve Him. He lives and loves us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being active in my congregation. I live my faith by encouraging others to believe, by being honest, helpful, and raising my children to be the same. I live my faith by living up to the expectations God has for me and finding joy in the journey.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

As I look around this beautiful world I find it harder to prove there is not a God. Such beauty, love and potential is the product of a loving God. Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

The mormon lifestyle is not without some exra work. We pay 10% tith (I gratefully do this), we each have an upaid assignment in our congragation which can be anything from teaching toddlers, to playing the organ, to organizing service projects, to being the bishop, plus every adult visits a family or person once a month and has a responsibility to watch over them and assist them when asked, we attend 3 hours of church a week plus other activites our kids might be involved in or other service projects, we read scriptures daily as well and pray as individuals and families daily, we are asked to do geneological work and service in the Lords temples, we have food storage for a rainy day, we serve missions from 1.5 yrs to 3 years, we do not drink alchohol, in fact we eat really healthy - imagine, we dance, we sing, we love the outdoors, we love children and spending time with our families, we dress modestly, we work hard and we love all of it! We love these many expectations of us because we believe we are doing the Lords work. Its a privilage and blessing to be here on earth and time should not be waisted. Show more Show less
