Hi I'm Tim

I grew up in Idaho and live in Utah. I love playing with my granchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since 1961, when I was 8 years old, but really gained a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and His church much later in my life. It came line upon line, precept upon precept, with no real "Aha!" moment, but quiet lessons that made me realize that God loved me and watched out for me. There have been countless times in my life when I have had "help" as I experienced concerns, trials, and tests in my life. I can look back on crossroads in my life where it is obvious now that I was guided by Heavenly forces. I have a wonderful family that I can be with through all eternity if I live worthy of the blessings I have gained as a result of the sealing powers of the Priesthood, administered at the temple. I am grateful for the Savior in my life and the influence of the Holy Ghost that testifies of truth to me and guides my actions to help me to avoid temptations and sins that might entrap me in Satan's snares. I have a wonderful wife, my eternal companion, and five children, all of whom have been married and sealed in the temple of God, and 9 Granchildren who bring me great joy. I enjoy working, golf, reading, and travel. I hope I can be a positive influence to all around me as I strive to live as the Savior would have me live.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is true, and contains the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit has borme witness to me of its' truthfulness as I have read it many times. There are many examples to emulate, such as Nephi, Captain Moroni, Alma, and the sons of Helaman. I feel the Spirit at the meetings of the church and in the temple as I contemplate eternal truths. Nothing else brings the peace to my soul and a sense of being in "the right place at the right time" as when I am worshipping with other Latter Day Saints.

How I live my faith

I am able at this time to teach a Sunday School class to adults in our ward of the church. It is wonderful to study the scriptures, including the Bible, the Book of Mormon, The Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price. I also enjoy listening to the seni-annual conferences where the leaders of the church teach us and bear wintess of the Savior and His truths. I try to watch out for my neighbors as they look out for me. It is wonderful to go to church anywhere in the world and feel that same Spirit and hear the same truths.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdon is found in the Doctrine and Covenants and is commonly thought of to be just that we don't partake of alcohol, tobacco, coffee, tea, or drugs. It is much more. There are terrific promises when we live these principles. It includes eating properly, taking care of our bodies as we should. I can testify that I have had "Hidden treasures of knowledge" come to me at times in my life when I needed them, due to living these principles. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

The way I found that Mormonism is true was through the quiet whispering of the Holy Ghost. I am one of the most logical people I know, and the doctrines of faith, repentance, baptism and the Holy Ghost are just plain logical when you live those principles. Show more Show less
