Hi I'm Ana

I'm from Southern California. I really enjoy dancing merengue and all music in general. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I need to relieve my stress from a a week of hard work, I dance! When I'm happy, I dance! When I need to wake up in the morning, I dance! .I've been going "Latin Dancing" Friday nights and I've learned more dance moves! Another thing that relieves my stress and helps me put things in perspective is reading the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon (another witness of Jesus Christ). God put us in families because He loves us and He wants to channel His love from their hearts to ours. My friends and my family help me remember that we all came from the same loving God, or our Father in Heaven as I know Him to be. I know that when I trust in Him and I do what He's asked me to do, through the scriptures and modern day prophets, I allow Him to make something better out of my life than I could ever make on my own. It's true that God gave us intelligence, but our understanding is limited if we don't rely on Him. We need him not only to exist from minute to minute, but to be able to thrive in this crazy life. One of the things that the modern day prophets have emphasized for years is the importance of getting a good education. Because of that, I decided to pursue a career in the medical field as a Medical Assistant. I really enjoy working with people and helping them attain a better level of well being. I'm so thankful for the opportunity of watching the healing process as I help people. It reminds me of how much God loves everyone. If He didn't, we wouldn't even be here.

Why I am a Mormon

There are many reasons I'm a Mormon. The main reason is that I asked God in a prayer if He wanted me to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He answered my prayer in different subtle ways, through the Holy Ghost, over a period of time. Because the Holy Ghost is a Spirit without a body, it communicates to your spirit through feelings, thoughts, and impressions(Galatians 5:22, P. 1476 in the KJV Bible). He made it clear to me that I needed to get baptized because this is the same church Christ established when he was here on the Earth over 2,000 years ago. He wanted me to have the same blessings that the people of that time were entitled to. It's been the best decision of my life! I now have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost, which comforts me when no one or anything else can. It helps me understand the Bible and the Book of Mormon better than before I got baptized. It helps me receive daily communication from God that's specific to my needs and the needs of those around me who I can serve. Another reason I'm a Mormon is because of this scripture," And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." ( 2 Nephi 25:26, p. 100 in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ"). In this scripture, a prophet in the Americas around 545 B.C. is telling the people of that time why they needed to believe in Jesus Christ. Because the Book of Mormon testifies of Christ, teaches His doctrine clearly and simply, and because it supports the Holy Bible, I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I believe that keeping the promises I make is very important. It shows my love for my Creator. When I was baptized, I promised God that I would keep all the commandments. They included keeping the Sabbath Day holy, the Law of Chastity, and trusting in the words of His prophet. The Law of Chastity says that sex should only happen between a husband and wife who are legally married to each other. The commandments are guidelines given by a loving Heavenly Father. He loves us so much that He cares what we do with our lives. Therefore, God's opinion of me matters more than anyone else's. He wants us to live a more abundant life and by keeping His commandments we can all achieve that. I know that when we keep the commandments, it increases our opportunities and freedom to keep making better choices. On the other hand, when we make bad choices and don't keep God's commandments, it limits our freedom to make better decisions. Another way I live my faith is by striving to be a good example to those around me. I believe that swearing is not a good way of expressing myself, so I just don't swear. I try to use better words. That's why we have dictionaries, right? Ha, ha,ha. I try to be nice to everyone, even if they're not very nice to me. Christ did teach to "love one another as I have loved you" and he didn't say,"unless they're mean to you." I live my faith by trying not to judge others, by seeking self-improvement, by trying to be more patient, more loving...more like Jesus Christ.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

God cares about physical health because it's directly connected with spiritual well being. When people are not physically well, neither is their spirit. Through a modern day prophet named Joseph Smith, God has warned to abstain from coffee, alcohol, tea, tobacco, drugs, and any other harmful or addictive substances. This commandment from God is our health code & it's official name is "The Word of Wisdom" (Doctrine and Covenants Section 89). I find it interesting that God revealed it in 1833--years before science understood the harms of tobacco!. It's obvious the Creator would know that those substances are detrimental because He created everyone & knows how the human body functions at its best. For instance, I received the blessing of higher energy levels when I chose to quit coffee at age 18. Since Eve and Adam, blessings always happen when people do what God commands even if they don't understand the logic behind His reasoning. I assure you what the prophet teaches is the word of God. I choose to do what God said out of love & gratitude for Him. After all, He sent His son to die for me, so it's the very least I could do. Show more Show less
