Hi I'm Jocelyn Turner

I grew up in North Carolina. I learned how to speak Spanish. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love swimming, playing the piano, and laughing! I recently returned from serving a year and a half mission in the California Fresno Spanish Mission. I have 4 sisters...I am the middle child! I have a BA degree in Child Development, and have plans to begin graduate school in Speech Pathology. I have a dream to write a book and to have my own talk show one day! I love children and look forward to the day when I get married and begin to have children of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus Christ established His church when he walked the earth. His church was perfect. I know that he revealed his secrets Amos 37, his guidance for the people, through his servants, the prophets and Apostles. I am a Mormon because I know Christ would have a prophet and 12 Apostles on the earth today as He did then. I am a Mormon because I know that the teachings are true. As I have honestly sought for direction and truth I have come to realize that I should not try and find a religion that fits my lifestyle, but that I should change my lifestyle to fit the teachings of Christ. It is true!

How I live my faith

I want to serve as many people as I can! Right now in the church I have 2 callings...I am a branch missionary. In this position I help spread the truth of the Gospel here in my hometown. I work with our local full time missionaries and help them get a dinner appointment every night! I am befriending those who have not been to church for a long time, those who wish to come but may need a friend to help them come, and be a friend to those I see every Sunday! I also am the Youth Seminary Teacher. Local high school students are encouraged to attend an early morning scripture study class Monday-Friday at 645-730. We study the stories and apply them to us. I have a great opportunity to work closely with the young people and help make a difference in their lives and in return they teach me and bless my life. We are on a journey together to become more like our Savior, Jesus Christ.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Jocelyn Turner
They will talk to you about how the desires of your heart can come to pass. They will talk to you about how you can feel the love of God more in your heart, and will answer the questions of your soul. They teach the doctrine of Christ and how much they love you. They will talk about how you can increase your faith in your Savior. Show more Show less
