Hi I'm Mauricio

I'm from Colombia, I'm a law student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Cali (Colombia) and I've lived most of my life in Bogota. I'm currently going to Law School at the National University of Colombia. Some of my hobbies include reading, playing the piano and learning new languages.

Why I am a Mormon

My siblings and I were raised LDS and our family has always tried to follow the Gospel standards and to live a Christlike life. We enjoy being members of the Church and are grateful to have the knowledge of the Gospel. My dad met with the missionaries and was baptized when he was about 17 years old and he also served a full-time mission in the Bogota Colombia Mission. My mom and her family were also baptized when she was in her childhood. I've chosen to continue to follow this Gospel because it has brought the most happiness to my life and I have received the knowledge of my Heavenly Father's plan and love. I also did as Moroni, the last prophet of the Book of Mormon, asks of us: to ask God with sincerity of heart and real intent if the message the Book of Mormon contains is true. And as I prayed and asked God, I was able to receive an answer. And now I have no doubt in my heart and in my mind that it's true. Without the restored Gospel I wouldn't have the peace and happiness that now I enjoy and I'd be missing the hope and comfort that it brings.

How I live my faith

How I live my live faith right now is by teaching Sunday School classes for youth (ages 12-13). I love serving and teaching the youth of the Church about the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, inviting them to follow Him and and help them receive the blessings that God promises us if we keep His commandments. It is amazing to see how through the teachings of Jesus Christ we can uplift the youth of the world by helping them receive a testimony of the Savior and be converted to His Gospel. It's a blessing to be able to do my part in the Church and learn so much from its precious youth.
