Hi I'm Amy Stone

I grew up in the South. I love travelling around the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a recent college graduate with a degree in architecture. I love studying design. A little while ago, I took a 2 year break from school to go on a mission to Chile. Since then, my husband and I have been more involved in the Spanish community in our city. We love cooking, reading, and spending time together. We are always up for a spontaneous adventure. We have a love for travelling -- and we've just moved to Hawaii.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have faith in Christ, because I love His gospel, and because I receive answers here. The more I search, the more truth I find. Because I am a Mormon, I have direction in life, clarity of purpose, and a sense of divine self worth. I know more about my relationship to God, the future of my family, and the way to be happy. My mother, the first convert in our family, shared with me that when she was younger in her church she was always trying to understand God. There were so many questions that she never received answers to. When she married my Dad and they began to look for a religion to share, she found answers here. She understood God better. She learned that He has a body of flesh and bones, that His Son is Jesus Christ, etc. She always reminds me that that whenever I have a question, I can find an answer in the scriptures, in prayer, and through the Holy Ghost. Because I am a Mormon, I know I have a solid rock of truth to build on, because I am building my life on Christ.

How I live my faith

Daily. My faith has changed the way I live because it affects the kinds of choices that I make. I try to pray and read my scriptures daily. I seek to be honest. I try to reach out and be more kind to others. I live my faith by listening to a living prophet and applying his messages to my life. I live my faith by being happy and optimistic. The more I can learn about the doctrines of the gospel and apply them and even when I can teach them to friends and members, I become a happier, better person.

What is Mormonism? OR What do Mormons believe?

Amy Stone
Mormons are members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We believe in God and Christ. We believe that Christ is the Savior of the world and we can return to the Father through Him. We believe that this church is the re-establishment of the church He established when on the earth. He called a prophet, Joseph Smith, who was his aid in organizing that church in modern times. Because Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon, a book similar to but not as well known as the Bible, many coined the term 'Mormon' in reference to that set of scripture. Mormonism means Christians, because I am a believer in Christ. Show more Show less
