Hi I'm Dave

I have a loving family, I'm a woodworker, a hiker, and yes I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in New Jersey in multiple churches, my immediate family taught me to love and cherish the word of God, except something was missing. I was never taught how to love and honor God as our father. I graduated high school and was told that I wasn't college material, I prayed and somehow I made it through college! During my college years I knew there was more to my life and that I needed to find answers. God gave me those answers only after I opened up my heart entrusting Him with the deepest and most sincere desires. Our Father in Heaven listens to us and truly loves us, we just need to open up to Him and listen to his word.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and christened to the Presbyterian church, and throughout my teenage life I explored other denominations of Christianity including: The Baptist church, The Mennonite church, as well as non denominational churches. I always felt that God is True, however I never felt that everything was “right.” As I went through college I had times of difficulty and strayed from the straight and narrow. After a night of prayer I met missionaries who taught me about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ aka the Book of Mormon. I didnt believe it at first but I came to know the words to be True. I know that the LDS church and the Book of Mormon have blessed my life and I continue to grow stronger with them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by talking to others and learning from their testimonies of life, we all have stories and experiences that help us grow. I know that when I listen to another person, I am not only showing that I care but that I love them as my brother or sister

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Dave
God loves us, we are His children. He knows each of us individually and intimately and knows our strengths and faults. It is important that we as imperfect beings must be led to live righteously, happily, and healthily. Most importantly we must be taught how to return to live once again with our Father in Heaven. Because we are imperfect sometimes we fail to see the truth in a world full of lies and temptation. To help us stay on the path to righteousness our Father gives a leadership role to a man called a prophet. The role of a prophet is not to predict the end of the world or read our futures his job is to lead the church established by Jesus Christ. I know this to be true not just because I have been told or taught it but because I know God has spoken to us in the Bible and that He hasn't forsaken us! God lives and speaks we just need to open up our hearts and listen to him. Show more Show less
