Hi I'm Kendra

I am an engineer. I rock climb and skimboard. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied engineering and love to take things apart just to see how they work. Most recently I worked as a test engineer for an airplane parts manufacturer. In my spare time I skimboard, rock climb, hike, play ultimate frisbee, and enjoy the outdoors as much as I can. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my family, we always have a blast when we get together and they are a huge support in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this gospel. Following the principals and and commandments of the gospel of Jesus Christ has brought me peace and joy even during hard moments of life. I was born into a mormon family and growing up I remember wondering if this really was the true church like my parents said. I decided that even if this church wasn't true, it didn't ask me to do anything wrong. So I decided to simply continue living up to the standards and commandments the church taught until I knew for myself. By living gospel principals I was then able to develop a testimony slowly, but surely over the years. Now I know for myself that this is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ on earth today. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God who restored essential priesthood keys to the earth and translated the Book of Mormon. I know that God loves and care for me. He has provided a way to return to live with him through obedience to the ordinances and principals of his gospel.

How I live my faith

Everyday I strive to strengthen my relationship with my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ. This guides me in my daily life to do good. In the morning I read my scriptures, and then throughout the day I look for opportunities to serve. I am far from perfect, and I'll admit testing airplane parts may not be the most humanitarian effort know to man. However, I find that daily trying to live my life the way Christ would leads to immense guidance, strength, and satisfaction.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Kendra
Mormon missionaries proselyte and seek to share the doctrines of the gospel because the church has a desire to share the good news of the Savior's gospel of peace and happiness. So, just like Paul and others in the New Testament members of our church volunteer to dedicate themselves to sharing this message for a given period of time (usually 18 months to 2 years). Ultimately, the gospel brings happiness into our lives and we want others to have the opportunity to fill their lives with that same happiness. Show more Show less
