Hi I'm Elizabeth

I'm a wife, mother of three, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family moved around a lot with the military when I was a child. We moved overseas when I was 10 and I finished high school there. While living there, our family was strengthened- we learned how to rely on each other. I feel that my parents and siblings are my best friends. I moved to the States to go to college. I met my husband there and we were married in the Temple. We both finished our undergrad degrees, and my husband continued with his masters while I worked as a nurse. Now I am able to devote myself to the raising of our 3 little boys. We have been happily married for almost 8 years. We live close to my husband's family and one of my sisters. My parents still live overseas, with my other 3 siblings spread out all over. I enjoy spending time with family whenever I can.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My ancestors joined the church early in the restoration of the gospel. My parents taught me of the gospel from as early on as I can remember and I feel that I have always known the the gospel is true. It wasn't until I was older that I realized that I do have my own testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel, and that I wasn't just leaning on the testimonies of my family around me. I know that Jesus Christ is my Redeemer, and that he died and lives for us. He loves us and has restored the gospel to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith saw God the Father and His son Jesus Christ and did all that was asked of him to bring the fulness of the gospel to us today. We have The Book of Mormon that is another testament of Jesus Christ. The words written therein are true and bring peace and happiness to me. Through the restoration, temples and the ordinances there can unite families forever. That shows me the infinite love of Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ have for us, his children. To be able to be with our families through the eternities means so much to me. I love my family dearly and feel so blessed to know that the blessings of the temple unite us forever.

How I live my faith

I think the most important way that I live my faith is within my home. Everyday I have the chance to teach my kids and help them to know of Jesus Christ and our loving Heavenly Father's plan for us on earth. I get to help them feel their Father in Heaven's love for them. Every week we have a family night where we sing songs together, read from the scriptures, teach them of the gospel and have fun together. Right now it only lasts for a few minutes with such young kids, but it is amazing to see how much they remember. And if we don't do a family night together, they notice it! The two things that strengthen me and my family daily are prayer together and reading the scriptures. If I do those two things everyday, it makes the day a whole lot brighter! On Sundays we go to church. The boys love going to the children's classes and learning and playing with the other kids. I love the associations I have with other young mothers. It is a way for me to feel rejuvenated and excited for being a mom. I also help teach the young girls in our ward several afternoons a month. We plan activities for them to grow united as a group, and to teach them the gospel. We do things like service projects, teach them different skills and games together. It is fun to see them grow in their knowledge of the gospel.
