Hi I'm David Batt

I love writing music, I think I'm funnier than I am, and I find joy in some of the smallest things. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm David Batt. I'm from both Seattle Washington and Uintah Utah. I grew up in Seattle, but my parents split up when I was about 13 or 14, and then my Dad moved to Utah. When I was 17 I moved in with him. I'm still figuring out life and what I'm going to do in the future for my career. We'll see how everything works out. I'm serving a mission right now in Houston Texas. I'm nervous to go home, but excited to see family. I'm going to go to school in Utah. I've loved serving as a missionary. I love serving the Lord. He really guides this work. It's great to participate in Missionary Work. It's surpassed all my expectations. I've seen more people be converted than I every thought I would. It's been great. I love skateboarding and snowboarding. I usually go to the mountains in Northern Utah. I love freshies! I only enjoy boarding in powder. If you haven't gone before, you should. It is a great experience. It can sometimes be a spiritual experience being on top on a mountain with the snow all around, and it's quiet, beautiful, and just a peaceful experience. I have a burning love for music. I've been writing music for years. I try my best to write music with a good purpose. I know that sounds cliche but I truly mean it. I write music that uplifts and is meant to bring comfort and peace, but I try to be real with it and not make it too cheesy. I'm grateful for music, because it brings a lot of peace to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe whats taught. I found it to be true when I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. I just felt really good when I read and prayed about it. It's been great. I have no regrets about anything with the church except that I waited too long to find out for myself, and really put it to the test. It's not a hard thing to do, you just have to be willing to live the gospel and put in the effort and then everything else falls into place. It's been a wonderful blessing in my personal life, and it has blessed my family tremendously. I'm excited to start my own family and see the same blessings in my own home when I'm married. It'll be a blast. The church is fun. I love it. Everybody should at least try it out and see if it helps them feel closer to God. What is there to lose? I've never felt closer to God and the Savior in my life than I do now. It's such a sweet feeling. I feel like they're always there. It's like I'm never alone. They're the only ones that I never want to be away from ever. It's awesome. They're the best company. It makes me happy knowing they want to be with me too. =]

How I live my faith

I have my good days and bad days. I sometimes can be really hard on myself, and the gospel has been the greatest thing that brings me back to a healthy mindset. Ultimately the thing that really helps me feel happy and like I'm not doing so bad is when I feel like God loves me. It's really such a strength. Everybody wants to feel loved and cared about and feel like their important to somebody, and feeling the love Heavenly Father has is what brings those feelings to me. I feel it as I read the scriptures, when I pray, go to church and the Temple, and spend time with my family. I love them so all much. All those things keep me going on the right path. There hasn't ever been anything else that makes me happier. I really try live my life righteously. I mean we all have our battles, and none of us are perfect, but I try to do whats right. I try to live what the Prophet and Apostles say today, and what the scriptures say, and when I screw up I try to correct it and move on. That's how I live my faith. I love Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father. They've been my greatest friends.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

David Batt
Absolutely. There is nothing that makes me happier than knowing it's possible for me to live with my family after we all die. I heard an Apostle say that "Heaven wouldn't be Heaven without my family" and I totally agree. Heaven absolutely would not be Heaven without my family. I believe God loves us, and I don't thing He would have us work at our relationships with our families if it was just going to end. I want to be sealed with my family. I love them so much. It just makes sense to me. If God really loves us, and if He puts us in families whom we love, which my favorite memories include them, then I would think that he'd want us to continue on as families after this life. I feel confident about families being with each other after we die because of how it makes me feel. I feel great. I have no bad feelings about it. I love the idea and I feel that it's part of God's plan. Show more Show less
