Hi I'm Jimmy

I'm a Colombian living in Alabama and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I am Jimmy! I am a tech-freak. I love working with computers, cellphones, and any other electronics around. I used to build, fix and sell computers. I have always had an interest in how and why things work the way they do. It's kind of the same for the Gospel in my life. I love studying the Gospel and trying to understand the whats, hows, and whys in the scriptures.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God loves me and has provided a plan for all of us. As a young child, my mother and my sister took me to church. As I grew older and the decision of being baptized got closer, I decided to speak to the missionaries. I knew they taught those who wanted to be baptized that had not grown up in the church. Although I had grown up in the Church, I wanted to learn what all the other people had to learn to come to develop stronger Faith in Christ and become a "Mormon". I listened to them as they taught me and I wanted to make sure about the covenant I was making with God. When I learned what they taught, I decided to ask God in prayer if all that was true and if the missionaries really did teach the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through out my life I have received answers to these and other questions through the "prayer of faith" and "through the power of the Holy Ghost," and I have come to a better understanding of my Father in Heaven. All the principles and aspects of the Gospel are, as Elder Holland once said "not just good sociology, but theology." They are true and they are the "more excellent way" that Paul speaks about in the scriptures. This truth is guiding me and my family and all those who heed the words of the humble man from Nazareth back to the presence of our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

Well, I try to do what God wants me to do. Of course none of use are prefect, but as a wise man I know has said "the real challenge is self-mastery." As I try to follow the example of Jesus Christ shown in the scriptures and taught by modern day Prophets and Apostles I think we can come closer to Him.
