Hi I'm Maddie

I'm a Mormon. I am 18 years old and working towards a doctorate in physical therapy .I've grown up in Florida Go GATORS

About Me

By the time I was 4 years old I had already lived in 4 states. My dad was in the Air Force for 25 years. I have a long line of family who have served and I am very proud of them. I played softball for 3 years and did a lot of damage to my body in the process. I had to go into physical therapy twice to try to reverse that. After my first session in, I made up my mind that that is what I wanted to do with my life. I am now a sophomore in college and working my way through an AA in pre-physical therapy then a bachelors of health science and eventually my doctorate in physical therapy. I love to learn which is a good thing with all the school I'm looking at.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and as I grew older I had my own personal conversion. Now I know that this is the true church and that the gospel is perfect even if I'm not. I love the values and the standards. I love that no matter where I go the church is the same.

How I live my faith

At the moment I have three callings. I am ward bulletin board specialist, ward young single adult representative, and I play the piano for one of the meetings.. I also have the responsibility to visit teach some wonderful women. I go to institute every week and as many activities as I can. I love to surround myself with uplifting things that will only serve to magnify the spirit i seek to feel. It's an incredible feeling to help those around me plan dances for people to enjoy and other really fun activities.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. Mormons are not required to serve a mission. However, it is highly recommended that we do. It's an experience that can be paralleled by no other. It's a sacrifice of time, talents, and friends and family, but it gives so much more in return. We serve because we love our fellow man and we love the Lord. Missions also provide the missionary with a stronger testimony and love. They get to learn the gospel like they never have before. It's filled with teaching moments and lessons that can truly change lives. Show more Show less
