Hi I'm Amy.

I am an artist, mother and a Mormon.

About Me

I am a mother and my family is a tremendous blessing. I have three beautiful children. I am happily married to my best friend. He is a generous husband and father. I love children and have five adorable nephews. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me the greatest joy because if I am obedient I can be with my family for eternity. I love to teach and learn truth. I also love the innocence of little children and enjoy teaching them the simple truths of the gospel.I love to draw and paint and someday I hope to be a famous artist. I studied art in college. Someday I also want to be an art teacher for kids. I enjoy being outdoors with my family. We love to sing, dance, play, and practice martial arts together.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because despite the turmoil going on in the world, and the ups and downs of my life I can feel peace by living like Jesus Christ. When I obey the principles of this gospel of Jesus Christ I am blessed and I'm a happier person. I also know the church is true by the witness of the Holy Spirit. I am so grateful that our loving Heavenly Father has created a plan for his children so that we can be with our families in this life and the eternities.

How I live my faith

I was baptized when I was eight but it wasn't until I read the Book of Mormon for the first time as a teenager that I gained a testimony of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. I followed the prophet Moroni's counsel to pray to God and ask with a sincere heart whether it was true. I felt the Holy Spirit confirm to me that the Book of Mormon is indeed another testament of Jesus Christ and a true record. By this same power I came to know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet, that Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of the world and that the Church of Jesus Christ is the Lord's church once again restored to the earth. Since then I have read and reread, pondered and applied the teachings and revelations of the Book of Mormon. The Holy Spirit has confirmed the truthfulness of this sacred book of scripture many times over. It truly is another testament of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Missionaries teach the gospel because the Lord has commanded that the gospel should be brought to all the four corners of the earth. Everyone on earth will have the opportunity to hear about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

We believe that all people lived in heaven before we came to earth. God prepared a plan for us to be able to return to live with him again someday. God loves each of us infinitely and it is part of his plan for us to live as families on this earth. Human life is sacred in God's eyes. God's plan would be frustrated if we believed in abortion. In 1973, the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints released the following statement regarding abortion, which is still applicable today: “The Church opposes abortion and counsels its members not to submit to or perform an abortion except in the rare cases where, in the opinion of competent medical counsel, the life or good health of the mother is seriously endangered or where the pregnancy was caused by rape and produces serious emotional trauma in the mother. Even then it should be done only after counseling with the local presiding priesthood authority and after receiving divine confirmation through prayer.” Show more Show less

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

In the bible the Lord states that we will know whether a work is true by the fruits of the labor. The fruits of this work are evident. We see it in the holy temples that are being built everywhere, in the faith of each individual member, in the happiness and peace that we feel when we serve others. Jesus Christ performed miracles when he was on the earth. He healed the sick, caused the lame to walk, and gave sight to the blind. We see those same miracles performed by the holy priesthood of God in our church today. Also, Gordon B. Hinckley, prior President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, said: “[People] see in this Church an anchor in a world of shifting values. The family is falling apart in America and across the world. We are putting strong emphasis on the family. It is appealing to people. They like it. They welcome it. They need help and we offer that help." Show more Show less
