Hi I'm Keegan

I grew up in Utah. I am currently serving a mission for the church. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a missionary serving for the chruch. I have been a member of the church my entire life and enjoy everything about it. I love doing just about everything. I love the outdoors and any kind of sport, but on the flip side I could be in school all day and dig into books all day long. I have a wonderful family who support me in anything that I do. I attended a year of college before I came out on my mission and I studied Music Performance on the saxophone.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a mormon, but I wasn't always the mormon type of person. As a teenager I disliked going to church, I never read my scriptures or prayed, and I definitely wasn't the kind of kid who listened to what people had to tell me. But eventually the influence and example of my parents and older brother brought me to a point where I wanted to find out the thruth for myself. So I decided to read the Book of Mormon and figure out if it was true. I can't pin point the exact moment where I knew that the church was true or that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, but I can testify that it is. I recieved an answer from my Heavenly Father that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His church. I received that answer by much effort on my part and asking my Heavenly Father if it was true. Now each an every day I can feel the light of the gospel Jesus Christ in my life.

How I live my faith

Once I really knew that the church was true everything about my life got better. I always had participated in the youth groups and orgainizations in my area. Once I knew that the church was true I started to see a change in how I viewed everthing. I understood why I was asked to do this or that, and the things that my parents talked about made sense. It became more than just a religion, it became, in my view, the literal Kingdom of God on the earth. Now I have an oppertunity to serve a mission and to share the glorious truth with those around me.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a witness from God that something is true. In a court of law a witness gives a testimony of what they saw or what the truth is. Just like in a court of law we can witness of spiritual truths given to us by God. In the Book of Mormon the prophet Moroni teaches us that we can gain all knowledge through the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost can give us that witness of truth as we diligently search out the truth and pray for guidance. Once we gain that witness from the Holy Ghost we have a testimony of that thing.
