Hi I'm Weston

I'm a missionary. i'm a ski bum. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a skier. My current favorite place to ski is Alta, Utah. Supreme lift is supreme! I also enjoy riding horses, hunting, mountain biking...and pretty much anything you can do in the mountains. I'm an accounting major in college when i'm not on the mountain. I was born and raised in Logan, Utah in a good sized family. One brother oldest, and four sisters. I'm #5 in the pack. My family are by far my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church. I am still an active member for quite a few reasons. Most important is that i have recieved a witness from the Holy Spirit that the Book of Mormon truely is the word of God. By knowing this i know that God has restored his full church through living prophets. I am also a Mormon because it is the best way of life possible. I grew up less than wealthy, but my family has always been happy together as a result of living the way that God wants us to live. The blessings from living the way that I have been taught to live are undeniable, and quite wonderful.

How I live my faith

I love God, and i love everyone that i come in contact with. I live my faith most by being the best example that i can for those around me. I am current serving as a missionary in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. I'll be here for two years doing nothing but sharing the gospel and serving others. I live so that others can see the blessing that flow into my life and have a desire to have those same blessings.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

It is great! I live a healthy, clean, safe life. I don't have to worry about any addictions or diseases, other than skiing, and i know that my family will always be by my side to help me out with anything. I don't use alcohol, tobacco, or any illegal drugs. I don't have to use them to have a good time because there are plenty of ways to have fun with friends while obeying the law and keeping myself clean and pure.  I stay mentally pure as well. I don't watch or listen to anything i wouldn't do or say myself. Show more Show less

What is the Law of Chastity?

"No sexual relations outside the bonds of legal marriage between a man and a women."  It includes anything you do with yourself, the things you look at or watch, and the thoughts in your mind. I personally see it as staying faithful to my future wife in every way. If i wouldn't do it when i was married to her why would i do it before? Obeying the law of chastity doesn't mean that you can't date or have fun with girls, you just have to have a line that you don't cross, EVER. It can be hard to change from a previous lifestyle, but it is very possible. The best thing to do is stay out of situations that would bring temptation. Things like being alone in a house with a girl, or having a computer with the internet in your bedroom. When you constantly keep a prayer in your mind you can never go wrong. If you are talking with your heavenly father you can't really have dirty thoughts or do dirty things. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe is the purpose of life?

We have been given this life as a time to "prepare to meet God." We are sent here to gain a physical body, gain experience, and prove that we are willing to follow God. He has given us many tools to help us along the way: The holy spirit, the scriptures, prophets, church, and most of all jesus christ as a perfect example. Show more Show less
