Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon. I love the Lord, & I thank him for my wonderful wife & 7 precious children whom I love with all of my heart.

About Me

I love the great outdoors, playing sports, camping, hiking, fishing, and especially being with my wonderful wife & our 7 precious children. I especially enjoy traveling with my family to Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Yellowstone National Park, Idaho, California, & Utah, as well as visiting family & friends, & many different temples and Church history sites along the way from year to year. What a beautiful world we live in! I also love teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, going on exchanges with the full-time missionaries periodically throughout the month, studying the Holy Scriptures, & speaking with my Father in Heaven in humble & sincere prayer each day. I know He cares deeply for each of His children. How grateful I am for the Lord's guidance in my life, & particularly in my educational & professional pursuits. I currently teach & provide injury care to students at a high school in El Paso, TX as an Athletic Trainer & as a PE Instructor. In addition, I teach online Medical Terminology courses at BYU-Idaho, & serve as a Field Inventory Specialist at Cegedim Dendrite [BuzzeoPDMA]. What a great joy it is to be a Mormon, and to have an example like Jesus Christ to follow in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

Because this is indeed The Church of Jesus Christ. I have come to know the truthfulness of this Church through the Holy Spirit, as a result of much fasting & prayer, as well as numerous personal experiences in my youth, serving as a full-time missionary in San Diego, CA Spanish-speaking. My testimony of the truthfulness of this church has also continued to grow as I have served in various callings within the Church, & observed how the Lord reveals His secrets unto his servants (Amos 3:7). As the scriptures say, "Ye shall know them by their fruits." I have been uplifted & inspired by all General Conference addresses that I have watched & listened to since ~ 8 yrs of age. Moreover, I have felt the Holy Spirit during numerous talks at Church in the various meetings I have attended, including sacrament meetings, Sunday School & Priesthood lessons, as well as bishopric, high council & leadership meetings I have attended. I have investigated many different churches. No other church offers what this church offers. Namely, salvation to every human being who has lived, is currently living, or will yet live on this earth. Through the atonement, His love, our Savior Jesus Christ makes salvation (i.e., immortality & eternal life) possible to ALL mankind. How grateful I am to be a "Mormon" & to know the truthfulness of the things that are taught & practiced in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, which is indeed the church of our Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by starting off each day with a very sincere prayer of thanks & then I read at least 30-60 min. from the Holy Scriptures, & write e-mails to friends who are not members of the church. I also live my faith by saying prayers at each meal throughout the day, and before retiring to bed. I've noticed on the days that I pray the most, and really talk to the Lord in meaningful and heartfelt conversations, that I feel a wonderful closeness to my Father in Heaven and my Savior Jesus Christ. Moreover, it makes my day go much more smoothly. I also strive to live my faith by seeking for opportunities to be of service to others (i.e., doing a good turn daily), and by looking for opportunities to share the gospel with the people I interact with from day to day. I want other people to feel the same joy and happiness that the gospel has given me, and to do so without being "preachy." Attending the temple and attending all of my church meetings each week, also strengthens my faith. I try to remind myself daily that being a Mormon involves living the gospel each and every day -- NOT just on Sundays! I also try very hard to remind myself to "be an example of the believers," in word, in conversation, etc. What a blessing it has been to have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life, and to allow the teaching of Jesus Christ to influence me in the things that I do & the things that I say from day to day. What a great blessing it is to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

David
I attribute the growth of the Church to its truthfulness, as well as its selfless acts of service to all mankind (members & non-members alike); its foundation in Jesus Christ, (who is indeed the chief cornerstone!); its magnificent message of salvation to all mankind, which is being proclaimed by wonderful, caring, devoted disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, including an ever-increasing number of full-time missionaries, as well as its ever-increasing "member missionary force" (i.e., every member a missionary!); the Church's beautiful temples that are being erected in many lands & countries, as well as the wonderful works (i.e., saving ordinances) that are performed therein, which provide salvation for both the living & the dead; & of course, a loving & merciful Father in Heaven, as well as a loving & merciful Savior, Jesus Christ, who desire this Church & kingdom to fill the whole earth! These are just a few of MANY things I believe are contributing to the growth of the Lord's church & kingdom here on earth in these the latter days. Show more Show less
