Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a wife, a mom of five children, a quilter, a recipe tester. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Nebraska and have lived in various states - Utah, Michigan, Connecticut, and most recently have moved to Indiana. My parents became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints before I was born, so I have been able to grow up in the church. Some of my greatest blessings asides from the Gospel are my family. I am a wife to a wonderful man, a mom to five awesome children (only one girl), and have also been a foster parent. I have a background in secondary education with endorsements in English and Russian, however am able to stay home raising my children. I love to read, especially cookbooks, and to try new recipe. Although, my children would prefer me sticking to mac and cheese or pizza. I also enjoy writing, quilting, and doing home projects. I love trying to figure out how to be creative with what I have on hand. I served a mission in St. Petersburg, Russia and still have hopes to go back again to visit. My husband and I enjoy traveling when possible. Scotland has been a favorite, but we also enjoy visiting California and old stomping grounds in Nebraska and Michigan. Most recently, I was the chorister in church. I loved being able to pick out the music for Sunday services, there are so many lessons to be learned from hymns. I love to feel the Spirit that comes into the meeting through the music. I find that this is way for me to add my testimony to the meeting each Sabbath.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member my whole life. I have been blessed with parents that became members early in their married life, allowing them to raise their children in the gospel. But that is not why I am a Mormon, it is because I have a testimony of the truthfulness of the Gospel. I gained my testimony and continue to grow in faith as I try to live in accordance with the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I feel that much of my testimony has been gained as I have turned to my Father in heaven in prayer. He has answered my prayers, has guided me in my decisions, and comforted me in my struggles. Life isn't always easy, but the Gospel has given me answers and guidance in my life.

How I live my faith

My faith is my life. I personally try to study the scriptures and pray daily. In our home, we try to have regular scripture study, family prayer, and a weekly family night. We attend church each Sunday and serve as we are asked in various capacities at church. My husband and I also try to regularly attend the temple. Also, my interactions with people testifies of my faith. I'm not perfect, but I do try to follow the teachings of Jesus in all of my daily actions and to treat others as children of our Heavenly Father.
