Hi I'm Bryce

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 42 years old. I was the 4th of 7 children of Verl and Susan Doman. My 3 brothers and I played every sport possible growing up, and we all ended up playing football for BYU. Three of us were wide receivers, but our youngest brother Brandon played QB. He had a successful senior year and was able to play a couple years in the NFL. He is now the Offensive Coordinator for the BYU football team. Since his success, I have become known as "Brandon Doman's Brother." Suits my fine. When I was 25, I married Holly Peterson and she agreed to change her last name to Doman. We had 4 boys (Tyson, Tommy, Luke, and Caleb), then finally we got our girl (Sophie). Our life is pretty much filled with watching and driving them to and from practices, games, performances, and other events. We love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. For as long as I can remember, I've gone to church pretty much every Sunday of my life. Between 9th grade and Sr year in high school, I went to one period of Seminary every day during school. During my growing up - impressionable years - I felt the Spirit of the Holy Ghost many many times testify to my soul the truth of the things I was learning. When I was 19, I left for a church mission to Sacramento California, where I served for 2 years. During those 2 years, I served with 12 different companions in 6 different areas of Sacramento. I loved every one of my companions! I learned something different from each one of them. It was a priviledge to spend time with each -- testifying of the truths of the restored gospel. One truth that was absolutely made evident to me while serving my mission was that the Book of Mormon truly was written by ancient prophets of God. I loved sharing my testimony of that Book and how it was another testimony (to the Bible) of Jesus Christ and his role as the Saviour and Redeemer of the world. About 4 years after my mission, I married Holly and we have been able to share in the sacred blessing of creating 5 children who we love like crazy. I believe that our family will be together forever. This belief is probably my strongest motivators to live God's commandments as best as I can. I make mistakes, and I am grateful for the life and mission of Jesus Christ, whose atonement made it possible for me to repent. These are some of the reasons why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I am currently a Bishop in the Deerfield Ward of the Alpine Utah North Stake. It's been an amazing experience to get to know the people on a more intimate level. Every member of our ward (congregation) is doing their best to care for one another and serve our Father in Heaven. I am also a Father of my family, which is also a sacred responsibility. Marriage and raising children have helped me to gain a stronger testimony of my Heavenly Father and his love for me.
