Hi I'm Sarah!

I'm a traveler, I'm an athlete, I'm a dental hygiene student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a dental hygiene student working on my bachelors, so when i'm not hitting the books, i love to work out, cook, and scrapbook. I live for sunny days where I can go out for a run or a swim. Nothing makes me happier than getting away from life and going on vacations with my family and friends. I love to be outside because I am so fascinated with this beautiful world heavenly father created. I absolutely love sports such as snowboarding, wakeboarding, swimming, and diving.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a Mormon? Because my life wouldn't feel complete if I wasn't. Because I am a mormon I never have to wonder what will happen when I die, or if I will ever see my family again after death. I know that families are forever, and that one day I can be married for time and all eternity- not only til death do us part. I know that I have a father in heaven who loves me, and an older brother Jesus Christ who died on the cross and gave his life so that i can be purged from my imperfections and one day return to live with him. What a comforting feeling it is to know that no matter how many mistakes I make, and no matter how many times I fall short, He is there to pick up the slack and make me clean again. I know that God has a plan for me, and that no one is put on this earth without a purpose. I know that when I pray, Heavenly Father listens, and he does answer our prayers. No matter what trial I face, I know I will never be alone. Sometimes I may get caught up in a trial and choose to distance myself from God, but he does not leave us. The second I come back to him, he is there to comfort me and help me make decisions. I know that Joseph Smith restored the church and the priesthood. The power of the priesthood is real. I am so blessed to have worthy priesthood holders in my life. I am a Mormon because I choose to live life at a higher standard.

How I live my faith

Mormon is not a sunday religion. It is a 24/7 religion. We must live worthily and choose the right every day. I enjoy attending institute and other young single adult activities. Through our church, we are given so many opportunities to participate in serving others. "When Ye Are in the Service of Your Fellow Beings Ye Are Only in the Service of Your God" (Mosiah 2:17). I know life gets busy, but there is no greater feeling than serving and helping people who are not able to help themselves. That is one of the reasons I am so excited about being a dental hygienist, it will give me many opportunities to serve others.

What is the priesthood?

Sarah!
The priesthood is the power and authority from God that given to worthy men starting at the age of 12. There are two types of priesthood and each can perform certain ordinances such as bless the sacrament, perform baptisms or eternal marriages. The priesthood is passed down by another who holds the priesthood. The priesthood, when It is Gods will, has the power to heal lives. Even though the priesthood is only given to men, the priesthood can be used to bless women's lives as well. The following are two stories where a priesthood blessing directly impacted my life. I arrived on this earth six weeks early weighing 4 pounds. The week before I was born, my mom began to go into labor. The doctors were very worried because my lungs and organs were not fully developed. My parents and family were very worried about me. My mom received a priesthood blessing and she immediately felt peace. Others were still very concerned. A week later I was born, and to the doctors surprise I was perfectly fine, and my mom got to take me home that night. When I was 5 I was in the hospital with pneumonia. I was extremely sick and weak, and almost had a lung collapse because it was filled with fluids. During the time I was sick I was given priesthood blessings and I was able to have a full recovery and not have further complications from the illness. Show more Show less

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Sarah!
Yes we do. This year in church we are studying the New Testament. I made a goal to read the whole New Testament this year for two reasons. First, I have never read it strait thru, and second, I love reading about Christ's life and the miracles he performed. We also read from the Old Testament as well. Show more Show less
