Hi I'm Janet

I am a wife and a mother of 4. I used to teach school. Now I'm teaching a new puppy tricks. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I stay busy as a wife and a mother even though my kids are all in school now. Life seems to never slow down! I try to keep a balanced life for me and my family, so we try not to over schedule ourselves. I love the simple life when ever we can capture it. Dinners together, game nights, no TV, bike rides and outings. I love to garden, take walks, try new recipes, and organize things. Our new little baby, I mean puppy, keeps me on my toes.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was raised Mormon, and what a blessing that is, I definitely choose this way of life for myself. Sometimes I wonder how people can survive the daily challenges of life without Jesus Christ. I definitely can't. I'm so thankful for my belief that He is my Savior. He's been through it all, and on those toughest, most tiring days, I know I can turn to Him for comfort, hope and peace. Being Mormon, or being a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints, is an opportunity to know my Savior better, to improve my life and find joy and peace each day.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite parts of church is all of the people there. Even though we all have our faults and challenges, we are all trying our best to be good people and to help others. Serving in the church takes a lot of my time, but it is part of my commitment to the Lord. All I have I owe to the Lord. The least I can do is to be willing to give back. Right now I get to work with the teenagers at church. I love the chance to share my love with them and hope for the future. They are our future, and thankfully, because of their great faith and dedication, the future looks bright!

How can I know Mormonism is true?

This is really pretty simple and straightforward. The most tangible way to know if Mormonism is true is through the Book of Mormon. If the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith who translated it by the power of God, was a true prophet of God. And if he truly was a prophet of God, then he was called by God for an important work, and that work was to restore the church of Jesus Christ to the earth in the last days. And that means that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, i.e. Mormonism, is Christ's true gospel on the earth today! Years ago, I decided to put my faith to the test. I always believed that the Book of Mormon was true, but did I really know? I spent many nights in study and meditation, asking God if the Book of Mormon really was true. One night as I prayed, His answer came in a very powerful way and I knew at that moment that it was a true book. Since that time, no matter what doubts may try to creep in, they never have place to stay, because God Himself told me the truth, and what greater reassurance can you have than that? That's the greatest thing about Mormonism. You don't have to rely on what others tell you. You can know for yourself. Show more Show less
