Hi I'm Matt

I grew up in California and Oregon. I am a Communications student. I'm a huge soccer fan. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a huge sports fan, especially soccer and also basketball. I like adventure, outdoors, but am a city boy. I love hanging out with friends, playing video games, going to movies and sporting events. I am going to school to be a journalist or public relations. I am a convert to the church as of 3 years. I've grown up in foster care and both of my parents are deceased. I grew up a trouble maker. I have survived with depression and anxiety for most my life. The church has truly saved my life.

Why I am a Mormon

The main two reasons I joined the church is because Temples and Families. The two intertwine with each other. I have gained a testimony that families can be together forever. I know for a fact that I will be able to see my parents again through Temple Baptisms and Sealing. And that my family that I will have someday will be together forever. And I know this church is the best place to start and continue that family. I don't want my children to go through the same adversities that I faced growing up.

How I live my faith

I am just coming back to church on a regular basis. There was a few months I stepped away from the church and it was a huge mistake. In the past I was a regular home teacher. I checked in with certain members of the church each month and made sure that they got help in any needs they needed met. At points as a member of the church I coordinated Sacrament and tracked all the priesthood holders in the ward to see if their home teaching was done. I believe home teaching is an important part of the church, as well as visiting teaching. It gives members a chance to serve and takes pressure off the bishop. As of now I try to attend as many church activities as possible to make sure I'm around positive people and positive influences.
