Hi I'm Tina

I'm a Wife, Mother of 4 and Grandmother of 3, a small business owner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been the wife of a wonderful righteous man for nearly 30 years, a mother of 4, and a grandmother of 4 so far. I own an Ironing buiness. I was blessed to stay home and be with my children until they were nearly out of high school. Now, as an empty-nester, My husband and I can leave the home more often and spend time together helping others or visiting family. We can work together to help bring others unto Christ. I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was baptized into the LDS church at age 8, but my family and I did not attend church often. When I was in high school, I got to know a wonderful group of friends. My 3 girl friends and I went everywhere together. I went to church because they went to church. I dated good boys because they did. In fact, the group of boys and girls I hung around with during my high school years shaped my life in such a way that I have since studied my religion and come to gain a testimony for myself of it's truthfulness and I've received the blessings of living a Christ centered life. I was blessed with the opportunity to perform as a modern dancer in my youth and during college. Through my study of this art form, I learned that my body is an instrument and needs to be kept clean and pure to benefit from all the physical blessings our Heavenly Father has for me. My husband and four children are what truely bless my life and enrich it. And a Christ-centered home makes it a holy place, away from the world outside.

Why I am a Mormon

I've often thought about why I am a Mormon...All I have to do is look around at the world today and know that it is going to take much more than self-help books and Oprah to raise our families. I watch other families and friends struggle with challenges with their marriage and raising children that aren't even an issue in my family. Don't get me wrong... my family struggles as much as the next, but on the big things, at least I can rest assured that my children know what we believe to be right and wrong. They know that ultimately the choice is thieirs but at least they can look back and say "well that's how I was raised and it seemed to work well, so maybe I'll raise my kids that way too"... I have had women ask me why I'm a member of a church that is run by a Priesthood of men. The truth is that women are held at the highest reguard. Our input is valued and needed in many areas of our Lord's gospel. The Priesthood is the athority to act in the name of God on the earth. To me, Motherhood and Womanhood is to hold the hand of God and carry a prayer in my heart that I will always be guided to act as a lady and be a sister to those in need. I want to show my Heavenly Father that I am HIS daughter and will ever be striving to be like His Son Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Because my life has been so blessed, I will do anything to show my gratitude to my Heavenly Father and follow the teachings and example of his Son, Jesus Christ. We live in a country that allows us to worship the way we choose. We live in a time of convenience. Education is available. Our water is clean. These and many more reasons and blessings are why I am trying to serve my God each day. I strive to follow His commandments and be obedient to the things I know I should be doing. But this is not all; I know that I am loved by my Heavenly Father. And as his daughter, I have faith that he will not lead me wrong. Living as the gospel sets me free from the life-styles and habits that would lead me down roads that are hard to return from. I serve, and have served in many areas of my church. Currently I am responsible for the young women in our area, ages 12-18. I have the opportunity to plan and execute huge events like: youth conferences, dances, girls camps, trainings. I get to speak to large groups from time to time and share my testimony of the truthfulness of the Bible and Book of Mormon. I remind the girls that they too are daughters of a Heavenly Father who loves them and wants the best for them. Many young women these days need to remember this and realize their individual worth. It is my responsibility to aid parents and other leaders in bringing these beautiful young women unto Christ. He wants them to share in the blessings he has for those who seek him.
