Hi I'm Heidi

I'm a Mormon and I love it! It gives me a direction, a moral compass, hope, and a reason to change and become better.

About Me

I teach reading to the mentally challenged and enjoy being with those that have special needs. I love to hike, explore the outdoors and, just being in nature makes me happy. I like to spend time with people and get to know them. There is always room for another friend within our hearts.

Why I am a Mormon

Life's pathways are easier to travel when you understand; why we have trials, how to make better decisions and where to turn for advice and counsel from the Greatest Counselor in the Universe. There is not another religion that offers a prophet to guide, ordinances that bind a family together forever, or church programs that inspire and guide youth. The most imprtant reason that I am a Mormon is because I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is restored on the earth and the Church carries the message and the authority from God to perform His ordinances.

How I live my faith

I attempt to live my faith daily through reading God's word, likening His words to my life, and praying for guidance and help in overcoming temptations and problems. I ask the Lord each day, "What haven't I done that I should have, and what did I do that I need to change and repent of?"

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Heidi
We build buildings to meet in, temples to worship in, and pay for the upkeep for the many church houses, temples, and church sites that exist around the world. The funds are also used to run the missions of the church, the operation of the church at large, and materials used to teach the lessons on Sundays and youth groups during the week. Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Heidi
Not the ones that I know. God asks us to help our neighbor, that is everyone in our communities. In many cities, there is a heavy Mormon leadership within the community. We are asked to serve our community by being involved in governement and serving on councils and boards. This is a big sacrifice for church memebers, since most members also have responsibilities within the church. Show more Show less
