Hi I'm Taylor

I'm a Southern California girl who loves the beach and doing anything creative. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from California and I have lived near the ocean my whole life, and I love attempting to surf! I have a great family that includes one little brother. I attend a church university and absolutely love getting a secular and church education there. I'm majoring in Elementary Education and can't wait to become a teacher someday! I love basically anything creative: baking/cooking, any kind of art, etc.

Why I am a Mormon

I've grown up as a Mormon for my whole life but over the years I've come to a much greater appreciation of being able to have the Gospel/Church be a significant part of my life. Every day I realize how lucky I am to have the guidance and direction that comes because of my faith in Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I know without a doubt that Christ was crucified and suffered in the garden for each one of our sins, so that he would personally know how each one of us feels. Whenever I feel like nobody gets what I'm going through or how I feel, I know that my Savior Jesus Christ knows exactly what I'm going through. I'm so grateful for the chance I have each day to try harder than the day before and try and improve myself. Without having the church I honestly can say I would be a lot different person and I would feel very lost without it. The Gospel gives me comfort, guidance, and strength. I know that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God who restored our church and I'm so incredibly grateful that he suffered all the persecutions and was a martyr so that we today can have the church. I'm so grateful for the knowledge that everyone after they pass away will not just be buried and forgotten forever. I know that my family is an eternal family and that we will live forever together in heaven one day. I know this church is true with all my heart and I have been so blessed everyday to have it in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to brighten other people's day's by using my creativity to make them a card if they are feeling down or to encourage them. I love to help others in anyway that I can and service in the community has always been something that's especially important to me. Being a member of this church gives me a great deal of opportunities to serve, which I'm grateful for. I've been able to help organize events for the youth in my hometown (like dances, religious activities, etc.) so they can have fun with other fellow members and build their testimony of the truthfulness of this church. I've also had some opportunities to be a leader in different sub-groups of people within the church where I can try and conciously make an effort to make sure every person feels welcome, included, loved, and important. I try each day to lift people up to the best of my abilities and strive to be as Christlike as I can.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Taylor
There are many things that help me to know that there is a God. Some of which include the beauty of nature (God didn't have to make this world exquisite and gorgeous), all the blessings I've recieved, miracles I've seen in other people's lives (near-death experiences, somehow being in the right place at the right time, etc.), the Spirit I feel that brings me peace and lets me know this church is true and right, and many more. It's hard for me to doubt there is a God, when I've seen so many reasons why there is one. Show more Show less
