Hi I'm Linda

I'm a Mormon. I am the oldest of 5 children and the mother of 2 grown children. I love the church.

About Me

I am a wife, mom and High School teacher. I love being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I grew up in the church after my parents joined the Church in Oregon. I am the oldest of 5 children. I served as a missionary in the Spain Barcelona Mission. The Church's teachings helped us greatly when my Father died suddenly after a short illness and after my brother drowned. I have been sealed to my family and to my husband in the Temple for time and all eternity. I love to play with technology and knit. I exercise 3 days a week in a water aerobics class. I teach grade 9 & 10 Science - Foundations of Life Science and Foundations of Physical Science in a Trade High School. I love teaching and learned to teach in the Church. I love to travel and am looking forward to a cross-country road trip, a trip to Alaska, and a cruise. I am a breast cancer survivor since 2007.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because my parents joined the church when they met some members of the church. I was raised in the church but went through my own conversion when I decided to go on a mission and share the Gospel with others. I continue enjoying the blessings of knowing who I am, why I am here and where I will go after this earth life ends. I know that I have a loving Heavenly Father who knows me and is aware of all of my needs. He blesses me through others who bless my life in many ways. I am grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and the sacrifice He made for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day when I walk into my classroom and know that my students are all Children of God. I set a high expectation for Respect, Responsibility and Resourcefulness. I learned these principles in church and from my parents. I currently serve in the women's organization of the church, the largest women's organization in the world. I help train leaders and help women recognize their value in their Heavenly Father's eyes.  I visit and watch over 5 other women in my congregation as their special friend and as the Lord's eyes and ears to watch over his daughters. I have opportunities to live my faith everyday as a woman, wife, mother, teacher, friend and leader in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

In whom should we have faith?

I love the Articles of Faith because they summarize our beliefs in short simple statements that I used to help teach my children. Our 1st Article of Faith is "We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ and in the Holy Ghost." We are Christians and follow Jesus Christ. Our 13th Article of Faith gives us a pattern for living that shows how we put our faith in Jesus Christ into practice in our daily lives - "We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous and in doing good to all men indeed we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul - We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things." Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

One of my favorite scriptures in the Book of Mormon is 2 Nephi 2526 - "And we talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins."
