Hi I'm Anna

I'm from Michigan and live in Marietta, Ohio with my husband, Bob. We are Mormons.

About Me

My hobbies are reading, family time, gardening and crafts. I completed college in my old age (64 years old). My husband and I have eight married children and many grandchildren. We love all of them.

Why I am a Mormon

My husband and I became Mormon after reading the Book of Mormon and praying about it. I am convinced this book is the word of God, just as the Bible is also the word of God. The bible mentions the Stick of Joseph and I believe the Book of Mormon is the Stick of Joseph that with the Stick of Judah, or Bible will be one in our hand in the last days. I believe sticks mean scrolls or books and the Stick of Joseph is the book about the descendants of the Joseph mentioned in the Bible...is the Book of Mormon. Along with the Bible it gives us the full picture of what the Lord would have us know.

How I live my faith

I was reared in another faith and became a member of this church after much reading and prayer. I am married to a good man and we have eight grown children and 34 grandchildren. We go to church on Sunday, read the scriptures together at night and pray together morning and evening. We love our country and try to be good citizens. We spend time with our children and grandchildren and do our best to go about doing good. We understand the atoning sacrifice made for us by our Savior, Jesus Christ and try to follow His example. We are not perfect but continue striving to become better people. I am a counselor in our women's organization. My husband teaches a Sunday school class. I travel to the temple in Columbus, Ohio with my daughters monthly and my husband and I babysit so our children can also go to the temple more often. We have had four of our sons serve missions in other countries for 2 years at a time. So we recognize the sacrifice these young men make while serving for two years and we often invite those in our area for dinner at our home so they can enjoy some home cooked meals. We grow a large garden each summer and share vegetables with the neighbors. There are so many ways to work at serving and blessing the lives of others that I can't begin to tell you how this church has blessed us by showing us the many ways to serve.

What do Mormons believe about Jesus Christ? Do Mormons believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?

Jesus Christ is the gentle Son of God the Eternal Father. He is our Redeemer and Savior. As our exemplar, He was willing to come to the earth to set an example for us and to show us the way back to Heaven. He sends us the Comforter, the Holy Ghost to guide us as we live worthy. He took upon Himself all our sins through His atoning sacrifice so that we can be forgiven if we repent of our sins. Jesus was resurrected and gave that gift of resurrection to all people on the earth, the just and unjust. We will all be resurrected one day to stand before Him and be judged by Him. He will return to the earth one day as was predicted by prophets, to be our Lord and King on the earth when it is renewed. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

All things tell me there is a God. He has answered my prayers often. I was watching a video in school about cell replication and wondered, how could anyone question the existence of God when the galaxies, solar systems and even our cells within us, show us the beauty, order and plan of His creations. What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

The husband is the provider and protector of the family. The wife nurtures the children and works with her husband to provide and care for the family as needed. The husband and wife work together as a team to create balance and rear their children with love in righteousness. Neither is above the other.
