Hi I'm Wyane

I am an accountant, a poet, a writer, a sports enthusiast, and a father. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I am Controller for a large medical oncology practice. My personality is not the typical accountant stereotype. My passion lies in writing poetry, songs, and books. A few years ago I compiled a book of my poetry as a keepsake for my family entitled "Highways To The Heart, A Poetic Perspective Of Life". Each year I write a song for the grandchildren to sing at Thanksgiving. I am the father of four children and grandfather of nine. My family is the center of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the Holy Ghost has born witness to me that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church, restored to the earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. It answers my questions and gives me hope and comfort to endure the struggles in my life. It helps me draw close to my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I serve as an adviser to the stake Young Women leaders, who oversee girls 12 - 18. As a member of the council that watches over our members, I live my life trying to follow in the Savior's footsteps by helping others come unto him.

What does Mormonism teach regarding baptism?

We believe that baptism must be performed by someone who is authorized by God, who has received His holy priesthood authority by the laying on of hands by someone who is authorized to ordain him, just as Aaron received his authority from Moses. We believe that all mankind must be baptized to enter the Church of Jesus Christ if they have reached the age of accountability, which is 8 years of age. Show more Show less

Does The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints endorse political parties?

The church does not endorse political parties. You will find members of the church with varied political views in each of the political parties. Members strive to match their own political views with the teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Some of the members are conservatives, some are liberals, some are libertarians, etc. The church does not dictate political viewpoints. It does occasionally encourage its members to unite in support of laws that protect moral values and freedoms. All members are encouraged to vote, and are taught to honor and obey the laws of the land. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

There are people who believe that Mormons are not Christians. That could not be further from the truth. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, it should be obvious that Jesus Christ is central to the doctrine of the church. Those who doubt we are Christians think we have a different concept of who Jesus Christ is. We know that Jesus Christ is the Son of our Heavenly Father who was sent to earth to redeem mankind through His atoning sacrifice. He is the Savior of the world. He was born of the virgin Mary, suffered for our sins in the Garden of Gethsemane, died on the cross at Golgotha, and was resurrected on the third day. He dwells in the presence of God, the Eternal Father, as a separate and distinct individual, and if we follow His gospel principles and repent of our sins, we can live with Him and the Father, and the Holy Ghost in the eternities. I know that Jesus is the Christ and is my Savior and your Savior. I live my life according to his doctrine. I am a Christian, and I am a Mormon.  Show more Show less
