Hi I'm Heather

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the wife of a wonderful husband. I am a stay at home mom with two amazing kids. I love to volunteer and spend my time with people. I love to smile. I enjoy reading, writing and creating.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have faith in Jesus Christ and I want to follow him. I know he is my Savior and through his Atonement I find comfort and peace. His sacrifice has made my salvation and my happiness a reality. I am a Mormon because I know Heavenly Father has a plan for me. I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon is the word of God and I know it is true.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day when I talk to my Heavenly Father in prayer, when I read the scriptures with my children. I enjoy sharing my beliefs with the youth and watching their testimonies of the Savior grow. I enjoy serving with other women and caring for the needs of others through the Relief Society.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Heather
I know that families are central to God's plan for all of us. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have of eternal families. Family is important to me because these are the people I love most. These are the people I sacrifice the most for, pray with and for, and desire to be with for eternity. It is through families that we learn the most about the love of our Heavenly Father. We have the ability to care for and love our families and in doing so we become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. My family shares in all my joys, my sorrows, my weaknesses and my strengths. They are the people who have walked beside me through all the challenges and triumphs of life and they are the ones I want to be with forever. Show more Show less

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Heather
I like to compare my faith to the vegetable garden I tried to raise one year. I planted the seeds and walked away. That didn't work, so I learned that seeds need to be nurtured. They need water, sunlight, protection from bugs, weeds, snails, disease and even rabbits or squirrels. I had to keep a close eye on my plants to make sure they had what they needed to thrive. It took work. So does faith. It takes constant nourishment from good deeds, scripture study, prayer, and a desire to do what is right. I find that when my focus is on my Savor, my faith is nourished and it grows. I also find that when I allow things to come into my life that lead me away from my Savior it is like the weeds, or bugs that tried to infect my garden. We must be constantly vigilant in not allowing harmful influences in our lives. There are times of harvest as well, when I have needed to rely on my faith to get me through hard things. Like anything in this life that is worthwhile, faith requires effort, but that effort brings a bountiful harvest of blessings. Show more Show less
