Hi I'm Russ

I am a Dad, an attorney, a college football fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After growing up in South Carolina, I went off to college for a year. I then spent two years in Venezuela living among some of the most humble and gracious people I ever met. It was there that I learned that many of the happiest people in the world live in small, tin roof, cement block homes. I developed a deep love for the Latino people, culture, music and their beautiful Spanish language. After finishing college, I studied in Jerusalem before starting law school. While in graduate school I met my amazing wife, Jen--who is hands down the greatest blessing of my life. She has been my rock and my anchor ever since, bringing me happiness every day the sun comes up. I've been blessed with a career that is intellectually stimulating and affords me opportunities to help others solve challenges that they're dealing with. I love to run and work out, I enjoy college football & basketball, and I cherish seeing our 6 beautiful children grow up. They have brought new meaning and deeper purpose to my life. I strive to be a disciple of Jesus Christ and pattern my life after His. I love discovering and re-discovering God's word in the Scriptures--and finding ways to apply the Scriptures' powerful principles in my daily life and interaction with others.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the LDS Church because it strengthens my faith in Christ, it blesses my family immensely, and it brings me great joy and happiness in life. While there is much of truth and beauty in all faiths and religions, I have never found anything that answers life's deepest questions so fully as the plain and simple doctrines taught in the LDS Church.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in the Bishopric of our local congregation, which means I work closely with the Bishop to ensure that the members of our congregation have meaningful opportunities to serve--and have spiritual experiences that allow their faith in Christ to grow. I find it particularly rewarding to serve with our youth and children as they begin their walk with the Lord. I love to see the light of Christ emanate from their lives as they strive to follow His example each day, even when many around them are choosing a different path.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Russ
Our faith in Christ is what allows us to keep our marriage strong & vibrant--and to help our family stay unified. Christ's patience, unconditional love, and selfless example is what inspires and helps us as a family. As we exercise faith in Him and strive to follow his example, his matchless grace carries us through life and fills us with joy. We are truly blessed by His life-changing love. Show more Show less
